I and my travel mate wanted a place to stay which was above all clean..and this one meets that criteria even exceeds..let's review

- Bfast 3/5. Do try their local coffee. Very strong
- Location 5/5 everything is near. Don't worry.
- you pay what you get although couldn't hurt if they can lower their price since a lot less expensive nice b&b are emerging
- Funny host. This is a bonus. Make sure you catch with the owner and get local digs & info. We spent our xmas dinner with the gang and they were lovely.

Enjoy!

Lubuan Bajo was our gateway to the Komodo National Park. The village itself is a noisy dusty place lacking any charm. The saving grace was the Villa Seirama Alam. Volker, the owner has built a beautiful house on the hill overlooking a harbour view that is mesmerizing. His gardens are not only beautiful but planned and operated in sync with the enviornment. He doesn't waste his water resourse. We spent most of our time there in the open bale...the staff
even served our breakfast up there. The breakfast was good, bannana pancakes, fresh fruits served by Christina with a beautiful smile. The rooms were air conditioned and comfortableand we were able to use the house refrigerator to store our beverages.
"A Taste of Italy" in town had wonderful italian food. We were pleasantly surprised. Getting home was a bit of a chore as the bemos quit running at night. It was a dark hot walk up the hill. The city needs a taxi service to supplement the crowded bemos.

Room Tip: The big bedroom upstairs has wonderful views, a small desk and direct access to the bale outside.

I rented the bungalow up behind the main house for a couple of weeks, and what a relief from the dust and noise of the village below. The view my bedroom of the harbor below was mesmerizing, as is the view from the dining area on the veranda of the main house. Breakfast was simple but adequate; staff helpful and courteous. The place is a bit of a trek uphill from the village, so I found renting a motorbike was very helpful and not too expensive at about US$8/day. But the motorbike taxis are easily gotten at the end of the driveway on the main road and cost about 30 cents for a 3 minute ride down the hill.

Overview:
Labuan Bajo is a small and charmless town. The road is dirty and dusty and the growing traffic does the rest. But most people are for diving in the Komodo National Park or much fewer for exploring the charming hills of Flores. There are about five western restaurants where three of them have WIFI.

Diving:
Day diving is a bit exhausting, you start at 7:45 than it takes min. 2 hours with the boat to the dive spot, one dive, one hour break, one dive, and two hours back. so you will be back at 16:00. As currently no price fight, it is quite expensive too. The biggest problem is the current, the day diving boot can not choose the best time for diving, so it can be hell down there.
If you are a real passionate diver you can do a dive safari (standard on most boats are low) or a live-aboard.
I have seen many mantas :-) the Fish-life is good but i expected more big fish.

The Hotel:
The Hotel is high above the town of Labuan Bajo. The owner, called Volker, has build-up a lovely open house from where you have a perfect overview to the harbour and the open sea. The hole premises is covered with a very nice garden, flowers and nice bushes everywhere! You really see that a western person has set-up this hotel. The name Villa Seirama Alam means "In balance with Nature", and i have to admit that it is true.
The hotel has three rooms in the main house and a separate house on the hilltop with veranda (open air terrace). Almost all rooms have hot water. The two bigger rooms are spacious and have enough storage place. The single unit on top a is juwel, a small house, but to have so much privacy is super cool

Pros:
- very clean
- away of the dirty and loud city of Labuan Bajo
- very lovely garden with nice places to relax and eat breakfast
- breakfast is big and good
- free water, tea and coffee
- free use of refrigerator
- all rooms have aircon

Cons:
- the hilltop house is small and has a small bed for two, but on request they put a matrace on the floor
- is by foot 10 minutes downhill or 15 minute uphill away of the town, there are public buses around (bemo) that drive you for 0.20€ to the town and back, or sit for 0.30€ on the back of a motorbike. You can not have a silent and peaceful place right in the centre. So this downside is rewarded with piece and silent.

Verdict:
A really nice and relaxing place. It has a lot of charm and the owner is a helpful guy. All these things have its Price, but if you have the money i can really recommend this place.

Would love to stay here again. Beautiful place with such a view. Bit of a walk to town...not that far, but hilly. Still, it wa worth it. While the town is a bit dusty, this makes you feel like you are above it all (literally)
Very nice and relaxed feel.

Villa Seirama Alam is a very cozy place to stay with beautiful gardens and very helpful and friendly staff. We initially booked one night but ended up staying 4. The owner is very helpful in sorting out the guests needs and has good connections with dive operators. Highly recommended!

We traveled across Flores by car for 5 long but amazing days and ended up high on the hill in Labuan Bajo in this truly special hideaway. The owner's attention to details shine through as each of the rooms and common spaces are adorned with nice design touches, normally overlooked by most owners. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh, and the cold beer in the afternoon added to the relaxed state even more. The staff were kind and helpful, and for the cost, it is a great value. But the view - just taking it all in as one of the most spectacular landscapes anywhere around. I can't recommend this boutique hotel (only with 4 rooms so hardly a hotel, really feels like the private villa it calls itself ) more highly.
