Nice well run place on the lake. Has great views and very relaxing atmosphere. Staff are friendly and very professional. Resaurant and bar has gas faux wood fire making it a cosy and comfortable place to have dinner and drinks. The $4 glass of Merlot was enjoyable. Good value place with breakfast included in some rates. The new chef did well and all my meals over three nights were tasty and more than sufficient.

When I read the review titled ‘Worst motel in 30 years travel’, I thought then author was probably expecting a bit much of a small motel. But after actually spending a night there, the review was spot on.

-There is absolutely nothing besides a petrol station in walking distance.
-Security chain on the door was broken.
-Behind the door was a huge stain where water had been leaking in.
-The carpet was very stained.
-The single bed was appalling. You could feel every single spring poking out of the mattress.
- When I turned on the aircon, the smell was damp and musty.
-The TV reception was terrible.
-The light in the bathroom did not work.
-There were cobwebs in the corner with daddy long legs living in them.
-The room smelt very bad. It was hard to sleep the smell was so bad. It was nauseating. It was like some sort of deodoriser had been used to block out the damp musty smell.
-The hotel book thing stated that the restaurant opened at 6am for breakfast each morning. At 7am we were still waiting so we ended up driving to maccas.
- Worst of all, when we come home at night there were cockroaches crawling all over the bedside table and in the bath room.

Definitely the worst motel I have ever stayed in.

The rooms were filthy. Not a resort but rather a run down caravan park with motel rooms.

Carpet was badly stained with damp areas from leaking fridge.

The doors were had weather rot. The bedding was stained.

The toilet had raw timber, unstained door knob fitted in place of the missing flush button.

Mould in the shower with the broken screen door.

Mismatched taps been replaced from toolbox.

Faulty light switches, broken air conditioner. Filth everywhere.

I have never seen anything as bad in over 30 years of travelling.

The part of the lake that this motel is built on is more like a muddy swamp. That may be exacerbated by the drought. The Oasis is a resort by name but a motel / camp park by nature. There are tents and caravans, wood cabins and motel rooms all on the one site.
Our room was well away from the 6 lane highway and was therefore quiet. It benefitted from a decent size. Advertised as queen + single, in fact it had queen & 2 x singles, without feeling too small.
A fridge, cable TV (albeit small), plenty of clean towels, kettle & toaster and reasonably modern bathroom were positives. The walls are clean & the beds average in terms of comfort.
The overpowering smell of very cheap perfume hits you as you walk through the door. The grubby carpet and loud noise that the taps make and that neighbouring room's toilets make a negatives.
No views - unless you like carparks or the backs of cabins.
A small pool with green looking water.
You must have a car as there's nothing to do within decent walking distance.
But for $100 over the internet, it's reasonable if you need a quick pitstop.
