Excellent service, lovely location, very good buffet breakfast, abundant and varied. The room was big, clean, comfortable, with both AC and fan. We told the owners our plans and they organised everything for us: firefly and nature park trip, dinner at seafood restaurant and transport to and from KL. Apandi the owner went out of his way to make the most of our stay. It's best if you have a car but works if you use public transport too. The pools are small but did just fine and were very beautiful. A great place to unwind and explore nature. A great place for birdwatching in style: a hidden gem

Before heading to Kuala Selangor, did some research and found out this villa got the best review among others and we decided to stay here for one night. Kinda difficult to find the villa (if you do not have a gps) as this place location is quite remote but if you got the google map with you, can be easy to find this place. The owner of the villa Encik Apandi welcome us with a big smile and we are impressed when we stepped in the house. Feels 4-stars hotel in a home and the floor is cleaned and everything is very tidy. Spacious room, clean, hair blower and got Astro too! The service, thumbs up! Indeed, we met wonderful Canadians there later. Not to mention Kak Zah (owner of the house) cooking was delicious and enjoyed the food so much. There are nice pool behind the house but we did not have the time to swim. WIfi is fast though for people who needs surf internet everyday! Is a good place to stay for people who owned a car since you will definitely need a car to travel around (which a lot places is not too far, 15-20 minutes ride), unless you want to asked for driver service. Love the trip, love the fireflies, love the people there! Take note of book the room that you want earlier because it only have 4 rooms which comes with different price.

We had difficult time to find the place but like the environment when reached. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The breakfast are sumptuous, we had one of the best Nasi Lemak with different sumptuous spicy dishes. Our Singaporean born children likes to walk around the garden to explore the local fruit plants and animals.

The owner is a very friendly couple and really make us feel it like home. We tried a local sweet and sour dates called Buah Kedondong from their garden. We met a couple from Singapore and they had hard time to get a transport to leave the place to KL. We offered them to take on our chartered bus to go to KL. Suggest if you are going to stay here, please make sure you arranged transport to leave the place.

We were driving in Malaysia with no specific itinerary, after leaving KL we decided to stop at Kuala Selangor for the Mangrove park and seafood. We booked one night at the Firefly villa, which we found easily, but I agree with other reviewers that you need a good map and sense of direction to find the villa. Once we were there we were greeted with a drink and presentation of the area, what to do and where to eat which was really helpful, the room we had was spacious and clean and the swimming pool in the back garden was a welcome addition. After a few hours we were so relaxed that we asked to stay an extra night to enjoy the calm and the swimming pool. The breakfast was nice and a fresh omelette was cooked for us. I would recommend this place if you need to chill out and you have your own car. One warning for people not used to it, but the pillows are quite firm.

This is my second time in Kuala Selangor, because I wanted to visit the Festival of Wings. My husband is extremely fussy about accommodations, which meant that I needed to find someplace better than our last stay if we were to stay overnight. Firefly Villa was excellent to me, and adequate for him. The house is clean, and the poolside is nice. Breakfast (included in my booking price) is a great spread, and our hosts were very nice and accommodating. It's kampung life outside, roosters and goats and frogs and all, but modern comforts inside. Tea & coffee, wifi, nice bathroom kitted with the basics (including toilet paper, which I know is of particular concern for foreign guests), slippers and bathrobe - above spec for B&B.

The cons - there will be a lot of mozzies. The water table is high in most of the country (in fact, not far north are paddy fields), so drainage is often full of water outside the cities. While the house is generally closed up, the bathroom does not have insect nets - which in theory usually is a problem from home experience, but for some reason no mosquitoes came into our bathroom so it was all good. The water pump can be noisy. There's Astro satellite tv in the rooms, but the channel selection is limited - which is not usually a problem but if you have insomnia or a group member who isn't really into the outdoors, it would be good if documentaries/movies/FOXetc/cartoons are in the mix.

There is a lot of food options in the area - but are local fare, so great for the adventuresome, particularly if your stomach has been pre-conditioned to Asian local foods. Pasir Penambang is nearby, which is a fishing village, so seafood is good and fresh. There seems to be a boat tour from Pasir Penambang jetty to see eagles at sea, but I didn't have time to explore this further - if anybody does do post a review of whether it was any good.

We stayed as a family with young children earlier this week.

The Villa cannot really be faulted. The location is slightly awkward to find but we managed it without getting too lost!
The welcome was friendly, the room adequate & breakfast sufficient. The real highlight was the pool & surrounding chill-out area. Very clean and relaxing place to enoy the peace.

We found the attractions however in this area to be very disappointing. The Firefly Park Resort is a dirty mess and the Nature Park at Kuala Selangor is a serious health hazard. We live in KL so are used to the wildlife & mozzies but here they were in a different league. Sadly we abandoned our trip after just a day and learned a lesson about attractions for small kids in the process!!

Having read variable reviews of other Kuala Selangor hotels this one cuaght our eye. We were not disappointed, it is an amazing place. Tricky to find, the GPS ref on their website didnt work for us, they had a sketch map of the area once we got there which would be useful to put on the website. You would need a car or taxi, its about 10 mins drive from KS.
We were a family of four, just a one night stay, birding at the nature park (Taman Alam signs) and visiting the Fireflies. The owners were very friendly and gave us tips on other areas to visit nearby though we didnt have enough time.
Breakfast was separate and we thought a bit expensive but there was loads of choice, very good and too much for us to eat. They would be better offering a smaller, cheaper selection too.
The rooms were very luxurious (water pump was a bit noisy when in use), though as with some other Malaysia places we stayed there seemed to have been a lot of tropical rainforest hardwood gone into furnishing it- look after your forests Malaysia, it's the only reason people like us visit.
