Charming estate and gardens with a good restaurant. A variety of plants were on sale at reasonable prices.

“A real family house”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

The best hall in Yorkshire, a go as you please walk around the hall is wonderful, the family still live there, and will talk to you. The walled garden is large, massive vegetable areas, flours, ponds and lots of secret areas with children's games,. Do not miss the woodland walk ( 30 minutes) spotting quiz for children, they love it. The courtyard cafe is also excellent. Nothing is expensive, I go every month with grand children and to some of the halls' special events.

“very professional but with atmosphere”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

our first visit here, we were very impressed with the professional presentation. So different from National Trusting! Staff very helpful and enthusiastic. Art collection my particular favourite (impressionists and new works). Cafe served lovely home cooked food.

“Great Day Out”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Brilliant for all the family. The hall is lovely especially at Christmas when it's all decorated. For the children the grounds have giant outdoor board games and woods to play in. There's a nice cafe too.
