Having visited many historic manor houses and homes, this one is special in that it is still in the hands of the original family. Unlike many sites, almost the entire home is open to the public; docents on site are eager to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the property.

We throughly enjoyed our visit to Burton Agnes and are lookign forward to visiting again at Christmas to see it all decorated ready for the festive season. The staff were all friendly and helpful and there is a lovely cafe with a reasonably priced varied menu alongside some good gift shops with some great present ideas and different things from the normal touristy items to buy. The house was lovely and there is a real sense of it being a family home alongside being a visitor attraction. The approach to it is magnificent and the gounds are lovely.

another great family day out .The woodland trail walk with models of insects etc to find and the many garden areas with games and the maze make it ideal for children .It is a peaceful relaxing place for adults with beautiful gardens which reflect the seasons ..even when busy the grounds are so vast that it never seems crowded. The court area contains several small shops and has plenty of seating . The cafe has a good choice of homecooked food and snacks and the service is friendly . Mr moo ice cream sold from the food court is delicious .The picnic/play areas are ideal for eating your own food .We buy season tickets which give excellent value as our grandchildren love to visit .Special events during the season are varied ,from easter egg hunts to re-enactments of the civil war .michaelmas fayre and more ,and are included in the season ticket too ! The owners and the staff are always friendly and helpful

What a beautiful Elizabethan property. The first room you enter has the most amazing carved panels, the best I've ever seen. The whole house is full of treasures and art work by the best of names. The plaster ceilings in a number of rooms are astounding. If you are a lover of Yew tree's the ones here take some beating. The tea rooms are pleasant clean and reasonably priced. I love this place and intend to go again.

An interesting Elizabethan hall of much architectural interest and a rather unfocused art collection, ranging from the banal to the superlative.

The gardens were rather unkempt at the time of our visit.

A gift shop offers tat that had no relevance to the hall, a plant sale offers some sad specimens whose healthiest specimens were a collection of self-seeded nettles and the cafe had some very ambitious prices.

The adjacent manor house was fascinating and the church is well worth a visit.
