After reading some of the reviews about this resort I was a bit sceptical about whether it would be a nice place to stay.

When we arrived, we found the reception staff to be welcoming and helpful. We were given directions to our cabin and when we arrived at our cabin we were blown away.

The 2 bedroom cabin was just perfect. Very modern, very comfortable and equipped with everything we would need.

The facilities were fantastic and the "tunnel pool" was loved by my 4 year old. So close to the beach that we could go for daily walks, and sometimes we were up there twice a day.

The resort was sooo quiet, you would never know that there was anyone else around.

All I can say is that I have no idea why other people are saying that this resort is nothing short of dirty, a glorified caravan park or any of other bad things I have read.

We will definitely be returning as this place gave us value for money and a break away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney.

Australis Diamond Beach is not and nor is it trying to be super flashy resort. It is a chilled out place to stay for a great family holiday. The apartments have alot of room in the living areas, are modern and fit out with great kitchens, bathrooms. There is alot of open space around the resort so it never felt busy and the facilities were not crowded. Our family spent alot of time around the pool which is a highlight and the beach was perfect for morning jogs and beach cricket.

Booking our accommodation was a nightmare, we were 2 couples so wanted 2 Bedrooms/2 Bathrooms as we booked. After 5 phonecalls by us finally we got what we asked for. First night our friends spent in 2 very narrow single beds so we asked to be joined together but by 5pm still no sign of help, Reception had forgotten?

Villas? are really just transportables just like cabins in a caravan park. Curtains mouldy but rest of rooms tidy & clean.Where's the free internet connection per previous management response? Only went to the restaurant for a take away coffee, $5.50 each? Rather remote place with very few places to go & eat out etc, best to take your own food.

Warning, there are unexpected stairs from the bedroom to the bathrooms, be careful!!? Also the beach is beautiful to sit & walk along but no swimming as dangerous with many rips & currents.

On the positive the pools are very good & clean, the grounds are also clean & tidy, and there seems to be plenty of staff around cleaning. A very relaxing place to visit.

One thing we all thought was amazing -- why was the place so busy & fully booked??

Firstly thanks for staying recently !

The Resort is designed to capture that memory of holidays with mum and day when we were young, and stayed in some fabulous beach front Parks on the mid north coast.

This Resort ( a redevolpment of such a park ) now brings 4.5 star amenities, pools, day spa and award winning restaurant to such a location. So yes in some respects it may have that
Caravan Park feel to some, but considering our current occupancy levels, it endears itself to many. With an adjoining National Park, huge empty beach and peace and quiet, it is 'remote' for some, and certainly friendly to those with young families seeking to escape the hustle and bustle. And at night...you can hear the waves break on the beach as you lie in bed.

Apart from the curtains, thanks for letting me know it was clean and well maintained, and I will follow up on why we didnt immediately alter your bedding configuration after your arrival.

And on the internet...it is free ! The broadband connection port is behind the TV, when you plug your cord in you will get the Australis landing page. Reception will provide the necessary user names and password...free of charge !

Hope to see you again soon....

Looks more like a van park than a "Resort".

Booked for two nights with a large group in Beach house/ Appartment and Spa Villas.

-mouldy curtains in ALL rooms
-MAJOR ant problems in two villas
-Solid dust over blinds, power points, windows, fans
- disgusting bbq - didnt even touch it!
- brown stains on two out of three bed spreads in my villa,
- horribly scratched and dirty floors
- marks all over walls
-broken lights
-disgusting cushion covers and lounge chairs - yuk
-Staff rude, abrupt with zero customer service skills
-my meal in restaurant was not as I ordered - it was a "thats it" attitude
-staff brought out a birthday cake(during a paid function) during speeches which in turn set off the fire alarms in the kitchen
-Manager is extremely rude, unhelpful when approached.

There is one positive - the pool is lovely and the kids enjoyed it.

ABSOLUTLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY WE SPENT!

Dear aklcs,

How difficult it is to read and even more challenging to respond to your recent experience at Australis Diamond Beach Resort and Spa.

It is no secret the pool and spa at Australis Diamond Beach Resort and Spa are fantastic. Sadly it certainly appears many other aspects of your stay fell short of yours and indeed our expectations.

Upon reading your review and others from the same group I conducted an extra ordinary site visit and property review and am confident all issues are being addressed.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further and can be contacted at Constellation Hotels Head Office.

Kind regards,
Cameron Stewart

Just returned from a 2 night stay with friends at Australis. We're locals from 40km away but thought we'd just have a weekend together (3 couples in the Beach House No. 10). On arrival found staff helpful and friendly but then we reached the accomodation and were just stunned at what we found: scuff marks ALL the way up the stairwell / the ceiling fans were putrid with rust and grime hanging from the blades / the bar-b-que should have been at the tip / could hardly see the ocean view through the glass sliding doors whose tracks were oily, sandy and filled with dead bugs / had to take the pillows off the lounge as the covers looked unhealthy / bath tub and toilet were clean but the wall and floor tiles needed a lot of attention / only six of everything in the kitchen so you always have to be washing up / the gym equipment needs desperate attention and the actual gym needs a jolly good scrub. This establishment needs to find a new team of cleaners and start instilling some strict standards. I wouldn't expect this low standard of maintenance from a 3 star motel, let alone a resort.

Good morning and thanks for your feedback on your stay. As you may have noticed the Resort has been fully booked for several weeks so the opportunity do a full spring clean on our Villas has alluded us until now. We are also rolling out fantastic new linen and valances through the property, and including now free internet access in everyones room rate, as well as continuing the free supervised kids club on weekends.
Would love to welcome you back sometime soon....

Good morning and thanks for your feedback on your stay.

Having read your review the other morning, I took the opportunity to spend time the last two mornings with my reception team farewelling guests, and enquiring on their stay. Whilst the feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive, it still doesnt detract from the points you have raised, and my team are addressing these.. After installing brand new carpets a couple of months back, we are now rolling out new linen and valances through the property, and including now free internet access in everyones room rate, as well as continueing the supervised kids club on weekends.

Would love to welcome you back sometime soon....

The staff were more than helpful and the resort is right on the beach and has a good sized pool, but then rooms are a little grubby and not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. They could do with a damned good clean and the couches and bedspreads need replacing.

At over $140 a night it isnt good value for money, but having said that if you want a quiet place away from anywhere with really comfy beds, Australis Diamond Beach is the place - but take a can of insect spray with you because the ants were all over the rooms!

Good morning, and thank you for your feedback on your stay, and the quality of our staff. We strive to deliver a friendly relaxed brand of country hospitality, and of course maintain our Villas to the highest standard. At the moment we are replacing all the older style bedspreads with an attractive valance, wrap sheet and runner, having done most of the carpets a few months back.
Other innovations are the inclusion of free internet access to all Villas, and a supervised kids club for children ages 4+ into the modest room rates. Our intention is to deliver an oustanding holiday expereince without the expensive add on costs of other properties. But sincerely thank you for your feedback...I am workshopping these with my team, and I genuinely hope we can welcome you back to our small peice of paradise sometime soon...
