I stayed here on the weekend for 3 nights in Unit 8, with friends staying in the room next to us with a 3 week old baby, and other friends in the 4 bedroom apartment (with 3 kids). The temps on the weekend went well into the high 30's.
The hotel has new owners and under new management, and has been renovated after standing still for 5 years. The renovations to our rooms included new kitchen, new beds, lounge/dining furniture, TV, and general maintenance throughout. The bathroom whilst not renovated, are huge - you could fit your whole family in the shower!!!
The living/dining room looks out onto the pool and gardens - which the peacocks currently prance around in, so expect an early morning prance past your door! The resort is setup to unwind and relax, if you don't do this within the first few days you need to stay a little longer.
There is plenty of room within the dining/living room with super comfortable lounge - which I doubled as my daybed for a nanna nap in the afternoon. The kitchen has the basics to cater for breakfast and simple dinners. We cooked steak and had salad and ate these outside our room overlooking the pool and garden - as each unit has outdoor furniture at your back door.
The resort is situated across the road from Diamond Beach, so a quick hop across hot sand and you're on the beach. There's a guests shower at the start/end of the path to wash off the sand after a swim.
Part of the resort renovation is an inclusion of a café called "Sea Salt" - run separately to the resort. We had great coffee and breakfast here in the morning. The cafe is open all day including for dinner.
As the weather was hot and humid - the rooms we stayed in remained quite cool - we didn't use the air conditioning, however had the fan in the dining & bedrooms on which was more than sufficient. There's lockable screen doors on both front and back doors so the breeze flowed nicely through the unit.
Overall, highly recommend.
