travelled here with my 10 month old partner and another couple and their baby also 10 months. Yes I would agree its not 5 star if you are used to kuoni or staying in a 5 star in london. However as a Spanish hotel and a package holiday it is more than good. When arriving there was a medical conference taking place we arrived Tuesday they didn't leave till the Saturday this did detract from the feel of the place the main plaza often had delegates in who were having smoking breaks not good if u wanted to sit a while with your baby. Also I felt it did take away from the holiday experience as there was a conflict of people there for work and then us in beachwear. Fair enough I thought if I was booking into a city hotel like Barcelona but not into a resort hotel on Tenerife. I did make my feelings known to the sensatori rep but was fobbed off that the manager of the hotel would contact me. They did with a note in the room and 4 chocolates thanking me for my comments.. Not great. I have never stayed at another sensatori but I can understand how u can b diss appointed here if u had. I think thomsons need to think about the sensatori brand they are not in full control here so if u have a problem or it doesn't meet up to expectations they cant really do much. My sensatori experience does not match up to the one my sister had in sharm. The rooms are good but I had to ask for a kettle and a hair dryer and also our bedside lamp kept falling out. I also had to ask for my daughters cot mattress to be changed as it was plastic and woke her. Also the towels were not very soft and had to also ask for more as they only provided for 2 not 3. There is no heating so was cool on an evening. It can be noisy when people are moving around the corridors and also in other rooms. It's clean efficient and we had good weather. It was an easy place to be at this time of the year but would not return in the summer, for me it's a winter sun place. The wine they give u as full board plus is very cheap and can be bought at the local supermarket for a euro or so. I would have been piXXed off if we had paid all inclusive. We had a nice time.

stuck at tenefe airport on 18th jan, only to be told at 8pm that our flight had been cancelled!!!

so on the bus we got, to be told by our rep, they had managed to find us an overnight stay at a 5 star spa hotel, wow we thought.

we arrived at 9pm, told we could have dinner with drinks (all courtesy of thomson) , what can we say, the room was magnificent, the bed was 8 foot wide, 2 terraces, with settees on , a bath that was massive and as for the shower.

so off down to dinner we trouped, the staff were so helpful, showed us all round the restaurant, the qualityof food was excellent, had five courses, with soft drinks. then went for a walk round the gardens , theres a stream running r thu with koy carp in , musical fountains .

again, at breakfast the choice of food was very good, and as we had been told by thomson that we were there until 10pm that night, this neant that we had another lunch and dinner to look forward to.

after breakfast, lazed by the pool for 3 hrs, then off into lunch, another 5 course affair , then a nap on that massive bad, then dinner again.

so we may have only spent 24 hours here, but it was enough to convince us to consider coming back later this year for a week (very reasonably price at around £800 in november for a bit of winter sun before xmas)

Room Tip: any room at this hotel i would say would be good

Excellent hotel, Red level section. Quite, excellent service, food 100%, drinks 100%, We arrived Xmas day until 1 Jan weather was excellent, staff exceptionally attentive.
You have the choice of 7 restaurants at lunch time and evenings. One word of warning the lighting switches in the rooms are a nightmare to work out, whats wrong with on-off? Pay the extra its worth it

Room Tip: Try to get on the top floor, high heel shoes the ladies wear make a noise if you are in a room under...

606 rooms is a big hotel and has resultant noise from guests and children in the main restaurant. Seemed slightly impersonal to us and as others have said the food wasn't 5* but "samey" each meal and not hot enough unless you waited to have it cooked e.g. pancakes or omelettes. The a la carte's were booked up before we were out of bed so only managed to get into two in two weeks. Japanese very expensive (Sushi E38) and food not really edible to us so we went a la carte hungry. Kept bumping into signs saying Red Level guests only. All very well but this isn't a cricket ground or racecourse. We're well aware this Red Level nonsense is a wheeze to generate money but it creates bad blood in that those of us who have paid £2500 for 12 days with Thomsons really don't expect to be denied access to certain areas - it creates a Them and Us situation so Gran Melia or Sensatori or whatever they call themselves aren't likely to be welcoming us again. We were surprised with free internet access after being stung in Cape Verde (we didn't spend a cent on it!). We didn't have the room cleaned daily which credited us with E20 a day but as we didn't work out how much credit we had and they won't give you cash back we ended up giving them over E60 when we left.! The hotel is all marble and fountains but it really brings it home to you to realise that with all this "luxury" they won't give their guests any water to drink - only with meals. As I've said in these reviews before - its the little things you remember and meanness with bottles of water is beyond belief.! We were told to buy (I daren't say who by?) it from the garage over the road - which we did.!! Its all very well for some reviewers to say "ignore the negative reviews" which this isn't by a long chalk but you do need to know what's what.!!

Room Tip: You won't get a sea view, only partial sea view, unless you spend more of your money on this Red...

Dear Iankettering,

We appreciate your feedback, it will help us to continue improving and striving in our daily work, and we greatly regret that your experience at Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora was not as nice as expected.
We will consider your opinion on personal service, and the details that you tell us about our restaurants. Perhaps our Red Level Service had been more suitable to your expectations and would have enjoyed a better experience. However, we would like to inform you that we only restricts the access to the Red Level pool (you can enjoy our other four pools, one of them, the biggest one in Europe, and other for Adults Only) and to the Red Level building itself, which obviously is exclusive for Red Level guests, who enjoy a complete Adults Only stay.
About the Green Choice, is an option that is offered to those who are sensitive to the environment care and we reward them with a discount of 20 € in extra charges from our bars, restaurants and Spa Yhi water circuit, to whom decide to collaborate in our sustainability program.
Once again, I would like to thank you for share your opinion and we hope to see you in a future, enjoying a complete pleasant stay with us.
With kind regards,
Pablo Querol

We stayed her for one night , cant rate this high enough , Room was beautiful , kingsize bed, shower , steam room , bath, dressing gowns etc. There were patio doors leading to your own private garden with a bali bed in there , palm trees and bananas growing .
The hotel has water featured throughout , service excellent , infinty pool brilliant , spa and treatment second to none .
The only negative was that we were not there long enough , if you want some Winter sun try this place

Nice hotel. Good service. Spacious. Good foods. Nice restaurants. Full board worked well. Great salt water pool (280m long!), bring wetsuit. Other pools like kiddie pool great. Reception slow. Wines suck on full board, 2.5E/bottle cheap stuff, go for the beer. Across the street is Sports Hub with scottish guys and gals running the show, they were fantastic and it would be possible to get ANYTHING there like tennis/pool/paddle stuff, spinning class, road bike/mountain bike hire. Would have loved to bike up Teide but the roads looked a bit crowded. Well worth every penny. You pay a little extra but at least there is no hassle. Room service hours varied from 10AM to 2PM, didn't matter much. No beach close by which kind of sucks.

Room Tip: All pretty good I guess. Preferably not a view to the streets.
