We've had horrible weather, endless rain, quite exceptional in Tenerife. Because of this, several sections of the hotel were closed.

The hotel was full, so were the premium restaurants. How you can decide to close restaurants one or two days a week during such a busy period, was beyond us.

Our family room was really nice, but the (foam) pillows were not comfortable. We asked for feather pillows and, service minded as the staff (really) is, they brought another set of pillows, but unfortunately they were foam pillows as well..

Breakfast was fantastic, good selection and lots of things the kids liked.

Oasis restaurant: so-so, not a good selection for children

Marketplace restaurant: Good

Japanese restaurant (Teppanyaki): Very nice

After the weather improved, we could see how nice the facilities and pools really are.

Unfortunately, the (promised & advertised) Wifi in our room never worked, despite the efforts of the technicians to get it working.

Overall, we were satisfied, the children had a great time, even during the frequent rainy spells, also because of the entertainment offered (movies & shows).

My friend and I had 5 nights at this beautiful hotel and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The hotel layout is so well thought out from the lobby to the brilliant, indoor-outdoor courtyard area. It is all so spotless and decorated amazingly. Our room was top quality, so clean, and had everything you could possibly need (apart from a strangely situated telephone next to the toilet!!) The shower was amazing, storage and lighting just brilliant!! Right... FOOD... no complaints. The Pangea buffet was so good and so varied that you could eat 5 different things every night and still have choice. It was almost too much choice and quite overwhelming!! Loved the cava at breakfast !! We did try the other two bookable restaurants Which made a nice change but to be honest, we would happily have eaten at the Pangea every day. We had no problem having our wine re-filled.. in fact, had to say no once ot twice as we had so much! We found staff to be polite and pleasant, contrary to other reviews I have seen, but they do seem very busy and hardworking. I completely agree with the reviews about a bit of politeness going a long way and believe if youare polite to people, they will return the favour!. Another pont was we had a couple od small issues within our room whilst we were there, and they were always sorted within minutes!! DRINKS... definitely consider all inclusive package. we saved a fortune doing this and the drinks are very expensive if you choose not to. We worked out that we sometimes saved 40 plus euros a day doing this. The chill out bar overlooking the infinity pool in the early evening which plays chillout mood songs is so nice... we sat there everynight and couldnt feel more relaxed... POOLS.. We only used the infinity sea water pool as it was so amazing, we didnt want to go anywhere else. it truly is stunning and impossible to believe until you see it - There were always plenty of sunbedsto find dotted about. The adult pool was silent, which is great but we like a bit ofchatter, so we happily sat round the infinity pool instead.ENTERTAINMENT - we found the Atlas theatre two nights in which was a shame as once we had found it, the evening entertainment was actually pretty good!! Opera singer was brilliant and the rest just a bit of fun, but something to do to break up the evening, which does wind down around 11 pm (piano bar is theplace most people end up after that for a few more hours, but the whole feel fo the place is so relaxed, you just want to go to sleep after this!!) SPA - This is aaaaammmmmmmazzzing!! you must go and do the thermal spa experience which is only 25 euros (or free if you dont get your room cleaned a few times - really good scheme- 20 euros a day in credit if you skip a clean) it has EVERYTHING!! sauna, spa, flotation pool, hot and cold plunge pools, steam room etc etc -it is such a papmering 2 hours - I would highly recommend it - also, dont bother with the local town unless you are just going for a wander - there is not really anything there that you would be missing!!anyway nothing else to say but a great holiday and a memorable experience

We stayed at the Gran Melia Palacio de Isora from 16th October for one week. This was our second visit this year having previously visited in January and we were not disappointed. Everything about this hotel oozes quality. The overall ambiance, the superb rooms, the excellent food, particularly in the main restaurant (Pangea) and the service generally is superb. If I had to be picky I would say that the food in the Oasis Pool Grill whilst lovely at lunchtime was somewhat disappointing on the one evening we dined and our only visit to Club Ocean was again disappointing compared to our stay in January.

Travelling as a couple we dined mainly in the adult section of the Pangea and not once did we have a problem getting our wine glasses topped up although some of the reviews suggest that this is a problem. " Excuse me, may we have some more wine " worked every single time so I would suggest that " one only has to ask and you will be given " - that was certainly the case with us.

The main pool and particularly the "Adults Only " pool are superb with the adult pool being an oasis of calm and never a problem in obtaining a Sun Bed and with the hotel operating a no reservation sun bed policy before 10.00am it is fair for all.

As a couple we thoroughly enjoy this hotel and will be back again next year and have no hesitation in recommending it to others travelling as couples.

Room Tip: Stayed January Room 5108 and in October 3109 - Sea View and sunny balconies and both very well pos...

Fantastic hotel! Too many wonderful things to say about this place so I'll keep it simple - go, explore and enjoy! Ignore comments and find your own way round and if something makes you unhappy tell the staff and they'll sort it! That's what we did and we had an amazing time!

Room Tip: If in doubt ask a staff member we did and got everything we asked for or explained fully!

We stayed at the Sensatori for 2 weeks for our honeymoon with our 2 year old son last year. I know this review is a little late, however I was gobsmacked at the negative reviews on here!!!!We had opted for this hotel as it looked like the luxury hotel you would get long haul but obviously a lot closer to home, making it a lot easier travelling with our 2 year old.

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted with refreshing drinks and were wowed with how amazing the hotel looked and the relaxing feel it had!!! We were showed to our rooms and were not one bit disappointed. We had only gone for the standard room, however it did not feel standard!! the modern rooms were definitely 5*.

We stayed at the hotel with the full board plus option and were not disappointed with the restaurant or food. The main restaurant (Pangae) is where we had most of our meals. We were very impressed with the options and choices available. All the meat/fish was cooked fresh in front of you while you waited. My son has a nut allergy and nothing was too much trouble for them to check what he could and couldn't have!! The chef's made me feel very relaxed when picking him something to eat. The wines included with the meals were very nice, nothing like the cheap nasty wines you can sometimes get at all inclusive hotels! We also ate in the a la carte restaurants a few times. You would get a discount if you ate in them so it was well worth the experience and the food was AMAZING!!

I noticed before we travelled that a lot of people were moaning about the price of drinks!! they are only what you would expect to pay at any nice hotel. We didn't find them over priced at all.

The pools were great, only downside was we couldn't spend much time in the infinity pool as it was far too salty and aggravated my son's eczema!! we didn't mind though as he loved the kids pool with the boat in the middle, there was also lots of water toys available for all the kids to share = My son was very happy. The Pools were always clean and the areas around very well maintained.

I don't think i could find a negative comment about this hotel!! the people that write negative reviews about this hotel really need to get a life!!! we were very impressed with every aspect of our stay and are looking to return next year.

Quick Review: Huge Hotel, Lots of Families & entertainment & 5 or 6 different Restaurants. Very clean, good service, it you are looking for a quiet break away book RED LEVEL only. Food mediocre, staff try very hard but it does not have the true quality that comes with 5*. At one mealtime the waitress spilled Parmesan cheese all over the table & it stayed there! No stuffiness that comes with some 5* hotels though. We very much enjoyed our time here but book carefully and don't expect the finesse & that extra mile a good 5* hotel offers.
Long Review: My husband & I booked this Hotel as we wanted to get away, but not go to far and get the sun. I booked directly with the Hotel via the website & received the 40 euros a day credit which paid for the Bali Bed by the pool and drinks. As it was the first holiday without the Kids we decided to book the Red Level, boy were we glad. When we arrived we were taken aback how big this Hotel is but as we were Red Level the porter took our luggage and we were asked to wait in a little seating area in Reception for Red Level Guests whilst everyone else had to Que at Reception. After a small wait a representative from Red Level came to get us and took us to the Red Level area. As we walked through the Hotel and grounds we saw lots of families with children around the infinity pool, which was beautiful, but they crammed those sun beds in on grass. There are other pools as well. We then made our way to the Adults only Red Level area which was brilliant. It was explained it is like a Hotel within a Hotel. It had its own pool, reception area and restaurant were you could eat breakfast as well. You can help yourself to coffee all day. It was up higher & so had a lovely view of the Ocean and Island opposite. I had booked a Deluxe room with whirlpool with what I thought was a ocean view but it turned out to be a side ocean view which was a bit disappointing. If you book via website and want a ocean view room make sure you book the right one as they both say Ocean view but when you look more closely when booking one is side ocean view. The room had everything you needed and lovely Clarins toiletries. The bath was wonderful and the shower was good to. Being half board we had our breakfast in Red Level but had to eat our dinner in the allocated Restaurants, you are given a choice of 3, one buffet, one Italian themed and one more like a grille. You have to book this each day, the earlier the better, although we like to eat about 7pm so found it quite easy to get in (October time). There are others where you get a discount. This is when we had to enter the busyness of the Hotel and sit with all the Kids. We ate mainly in the Italian but the food was defiantly not 5 star and neither was the service. I must say the staff bend over themselves backwards to help but they have a lot of people to serve so whisk your plate away as soon as you have finished your last mouthful. I agree with someone else where they said they are catering for the full boarders and all inclusive so the food is mediocre. The Hotel is spotlessly clean & the upkeep is excellent. Around the pool you can book Bali Beds which you can do for a number of days in advance. If you want one do this as soon as you arrive. In the Red Level you also get a 50% discount at the Restaurant which is much more quiet and Intimate. You don't get a huge choice but the quality is very good. We decided to eat there a couple of times rather than venture out of Red Level. Around the Red Level pool you are brought, once a day, cold flannels, fresh fruit on a skewer and if you have booked the bed a bottle of Cava, magazines & sun tan lotion. You also have a button to press for waiter service. There is lots to do at the Hotel which is arranged every day & we were given a timetable but did not take advantage of it so can't comment how good it was. I booked everything myself, from flights with Ryanair, a luxury car from airport to Hotel, arranged via Hotel email, and room via Gran Melia website, half board, we worked out we saved around a £1000 rather than going through Thompson's & got good flight times, so we got there on a Thursday lunchtime & back in old blighty by 4pm a week later. I would defiantly recommend this Hotel, good for families as well as couples if you book Red Level. Go to there web site, make sure you look carefully at all the options and decide what is best for you, just don't expect the finesse you get with some other 5* hotels.

By reading some of these reviews I’m wondering if we’ve been to the same hotel..

The staff both at the reception and at the restaurants (we dined mainly in Pangae) are always very attentive and polite which is basically all you can ask for!

As for the Guests, we noticed a couple of “the patronising types” who would give a barman a lecture (@ the Ocean Bar) about the amount of ice and the shape of glass he should’ve used for…tonic!

It was really upsetting to observe that kind of situations, especially that the barman was really polite and was determined to do his job right. Then, another lady drank more than half of her cocktail just to lash out at the barman he had given her whipped cream that’s gone off. He showed her the can of whipped cream and said it was the one he had used, but she said she wanted the cocktail deleted from her bill! Give me a break…if every guest had half of their dinner/cocktail and complained about some imaginatory stuff, the hotel would go bankrupt! Plus,EVEN IF you are dissatisfied with your food or drink…can’t you just say it in a polite and non-patronising way? Waiters and barmans are human beings, too! They’re not there to be pushed around..What goes around comes around people.

Even though the weather was pretty bad during our stay over there (just one real sunny day :) ) it was really warm,so you could easily use the swimming pool with heated water despite the rain. Pools always clean, the areas around very well maintained.

As far as the desing of the hotel is concerned we were absolutely amazed by the attention paid to details! The lobby area is so blissfull and the smell over there is just what will always remind me of relaxing holidays!

The evening entertaining in the theatre was absolutely beyond our expectations! The Sensatori Team put amazing shows, we could watch them all the time! Jaki Graham and Jackson Live were also fantastic! Just one thing we noticed – why are people so stiff during such fun and entertaining shows?! Some people made the impression of being forced to sit there. If this is not the kind of entertainment you’re looking for,why sit there for a full hour with your arms crossed on the chest?? We had a wonderful time during every show (Jaki Graham,Wickedly Broadway,Jackson Live, Rocketstar, to name just a few). We recorded some parts of a few performances, they were so good! Now,watching them will take us back to that fantastic world of Sensatori Entertainment on those cold evenings coming up here in Ireland :)

On the final note – don’t bother to fill in the forms they will deliver to your room before your departure and the same questionnaire on the plane back home…Just read the terms and conditions at the back page first and decide yourself if your personal data is worth the prize (a discount for your next holiday,if you’re the lucky one chosen in a draw). Bear in mind that to even be able to take part in the draw you must fill in all the questionnaire fields…including your annual income,TV set type, accomodation type, care type+year and the date of renewing your home/car insurance, just to name a few! By giving them back the form you agree they give your personal info to third parties and reserve the right to publish and AMEND everything you filled in.. So you decide yourself.

Go for Sensatori Tenerife if you're looking for great service,an outstanding hotel and facilities, as well as fab entertainment, regardless of weather :)

Ewa & Marcin
