Do not normally write reviews but thought I should warn people how horrible staff are made me feel like we was not on holiday stay clear of oasis pool grill sure I got ill from there and the waiter franesco was so grumpy and made us feel very uncomfortable didn't go back in there after first visit. Hotel full of children lots of children's activity all day entertainment is like all hotels nothing special but thought it was strange main show was 10pm every night rather later . Don't bother going full board as they do not like giving you drinks for free with dinner first ones ok but then it's like getting blood out of a stone nothing. Star about this hotel except he price. A lot of stairs and the lifts was out of service only for on day.

Room Tip: Only tip is do not book

If you have stayed in a five star resort previously don't waste your time going here. The hotel is beautiful and there are lots of things to do for children but the service is terrible. The waiters are so rude you would think you are staying in their own house, if you are all inclusive you can never get a waiters attention and then after your first drink at your meal you never see them again. I asked for a cup of tea at the end of my meal and you would have thought I would have asked them to go to India for it.
It is obvious this hotel has been hit by the recession as the hotel is in total darkness, as a young woman it was quite intimidating walking back to the room after 8pm. We never saw the fountains which were supposed to be very impressive either.
We took two babies under two to the resort - we had to pay £90 extra for two cots but when we got there only one was in the room.
The following day I was on my own by the pool with my two babies, I asked the attendant to help me with a parasol and he laughed and said there were none despite there being lots not being used.
On the last day our all inclusive status ran out at 12noon but we weren't leaving until 6pm when we told the Sensatori rep 'Collette' she said "you should have read your terms and conditions". Apparently Thomsons are not a company you can take on face value.
Also we didn't arrive until midnight so we didn't get a full weeks all inclusive package.
The all inclusive option isnt all inclusive, you have to pay if you want a snack and only certain bars/restaurants are included.
The Hotel is owned by Gran Melia and Thomson if you desperately want to go the this hotel then book via Gran Melia as Thomson/Sensatori have the rooms with terrible views, their reception is poxy and you are treated like a second class citizen

We have just spent a glorious half term week in this amazing hotel. The melia is truly stunning, a great deal of thought has gone into the design and decor of this bali inspired gem. I can honestly say is the best holiday hotel I have visited in Europe.

We had a family suite was a small garden complete with our very own Bali bed. The interior was fabulous and spacious with a double shower and huge jacuzzi bath.

We have a 4 year old so spent each day at the infants pool with pirate boat and water fountains.

We booked direct with the hotel and took advantage of the 40 euro food voucher. We were bed and breakfast only so paid for lunch and dinner.

Booking direct meant we could use the melia kids club by the prate pool rather than the thompsons kids club by the family pool which worked very well. Thompsons put on a fab kids show each night that we were able to attend.

The only slight downside of the whole experience is the food. Outside of the fab buffet breakfast and the Japanese restaurant the rest of the food is really quite poor for a 5 star hotel. I get the impression that they are catering for full board and all inclusive guests and budgeting with the menus therefore the food really suffers. If they do something about the quality of the food and menu choice then it would be perfect.

Spend your money somewhere else beautiful hotel and pools but staff and service very poor spent so much time queuing at reception kept getting charged for drinks that was included sensatori men staff are rude give up speaking to them. Rooms are very nice except the sofa bed for children is so hard. Thomson say this one there best hotels think they need to com stay in it. Italian best restaurant again sham about staff buffet restaurant good but get boring breakfast nice but cold there is a microwave. If you have already booked ask for ground floor get a big bed and garden view not great from balcony anyway. The only brilliant staff was the uk nursery staff was excellent spa was good but expensive. Drinks £8.50 for gin tonic £3.50 for coffee. Infinity pool looks beautiful but hardly see anyone in it because to cold. Go sensatori Mexico so much better loved it there nothing to complain about

Room Tip: Book restaurants at 8.00am at reception to get good one

We have just returned from our Honeymoon from Tenerife and feel it only fair to voice our comments on our holiday.

We had booked the Colourful Coasts cruise on the Thomson Dream followed by a week in the Sensatori hotel in Tenerife and were really looking forward to a luxurious holiday.

The cruise was one of, or possibly the best holiday we have had and can’t thank the staff and the crew enough for making it a memorable occasion. The service, food and entertainment were first class and we could not fault it. The only downside to the week was the trip in Morocco to the Fantasia and Souke which we felt was contrived and did not really show us the real Morocco. All the other trips were excellent with informative and friendly tour guides.

Unfortunately we were less than impressed by our week at the Sensatori Hotel for a number of reasons spelt out below.

The hotel at first glance gave you that ‘Wow’ factor but steadily went downhill from then on. It totally lacked atmosphere and after you had had the fun gene sucked out at reception it left you feeling like a clone.

1. On arrival we were told our room was not ready and waited over an hour for it and then we had to go to the reception to find out even though I had left my mobile number for them to contact us.
2. There was musty/drainage smell in the room which we complained about but nothing was done to remedy it.
3. There was a reasonable view from the balcony but only if you stood up and looked over the brick wall. No view when seated on the small sofa.
4. There was confusion over the bars and restaurants that we would be charged for using our Plus drinks package although this was clarified on our second day. But it limited us on our first night and we avoided using the Disco (see point 10 below)
5. The evening restaurants required booking and we were only able to do this up to a maximum of 2 days in advance and consequently we only managed to get into the Oasis Grill on 2 occasions and the Ocean Grill on one evening and that was at 9:15 pm which is later than we normally like to eat. We ate out for the last two nights as we were fed up of cold food.
6. On Saturday evening 2 of the restaurants were closed.
7. The Pangea buffet restaurant where we had breakfast and two evening meals was very busy and noisy and like eating in a shopping mall.
8. The food was not hot in the Oasis Grill or the Pangea Buffet.
9. Only two bars were open in the evening till 11:30 and then only the piano bar was open till 1:00 am and we noticed that as time went on we were served beer and wine in smaller glasses.
10. We did not use the disco on Friday evening due to the confusion regarding the Plus package (see point 4 above) and on Saturday evening it was closed for a private party. The rest of the week it did not open at all.
11. The entertainment left an awful lot to be desired. There was a so called ‘DJ’ at the Ocean bar who just stood there and played what seemed like only a couple of ‘mood records’ and never said a word. The shows in the theatre were really well below par compared to the ones on the cruise and were very poorly attended maybe due to the lack of promotion around the hotel (only posters outside the theatre).
12. There were a lot of young children about which seemed to be catered for more than the adults in the way of entertainment.
13. Why on earth would you want a large telephone right next to the toilet that you banged your elbow on every time you used it?
14. The location is in a small village called Alcala which only had a few shops and a couple of bars. If you wanted anything else it is a good taxi ride or a bus trip away.

Thomson have got it spot on for the cruise but have got so many things wrong at the Sensatori. We would definitely book another cruise but not a Sensatori hotel again. We feel we have wasted a lot of money on something that should have been special.
