“Had a really nice 3 nights here. Really enjoyed our stay.”
Reviewed January 16, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Ken, the owner, showed us his bees, introduced us to Nina (his pet deer), and took us to see his glow worms one evening. The accommodation was excellent, the views were stunning and Ken & Vivien even arranged nice sunny weather for us.

“Excellent home base for visiting Abel Tasman Park/ Nelson area”
Reviewed November 16, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Thanks to our hosts for offering their cottage in a quiet rural setting between Nelson and the Abel Tasman National Park. The home is completely equipped to host a couple or a small family for a very private and relaxing stay. The kitchen is exceptional among self catering locations. The beds are very comfortable. The shower is tops. The rooms are spacious and get loads of light. The owners do first class maintenance and care.

“A wonderful introduction to the South Island”
Reviewed November 7, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

The property is magical. Ken is a warm host that balances sharing his knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area with guest privacy. This was a great opportunity to see a "hobby" farm up close. It is also a great jumping off place for Ablel Tasmen. Thank you so much for you gracious hospitality! We would come back in a heart beat!

“Hidden gem in the hills of Mapua with amazing views of Nelson!”

This cottage is just gorgeous! What a great location and amazing views! We felt like we were right in the middle of everything; halfway to Nelson and halfway to the beautiful Kaiteriteri. We found some local gems while exploring and enjoyed what was a wonderful holiday! Thank you Vivien and Ken. You were the most delightful people! Welcomed us with open arms from the second we arrived. Extremely friendly and made us felt at home straight away. We will be back!

“Staying at Mapua Heights Cottage was one of the highlights of our NZ holiday.”
Reviewed April 18, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Vivien and Ken were great hosts with suggestions on local amenities and things to do. Ken showed us his bee colonies and even offered to collect our suitcases from Nelson airport, which unfortunately got parted from us on our flight from the UK! The cottage is very well equipped and immaculate, with a resident doe, Nina and a glowworm gully nearby. Very convenient for Abel Tasman National Park, Motueka, Nelson Lakes, Golden Bay and fish and chips and micro beer on the Mapua Wharf. Too much to see and do in too little time. Would love to return one day.

“A lovely, spacious cottage in a private setting surrounded by gardens, with beautiful vistas of hills and sea.”

Ken and Vivien made us feel very welcome, they have created a haven for others to enjoy. We appreciated the comfortable bed, quality linen and the cosiness of the pot-belly fireplace. The location of the cottage suited us perfectly - just a few minutes' drive to the cafes at Mapua Wharf and we enjoyed a coastal and inlet walk at nearby Motueka.

“Mapua Heights Cottage was the best way to experience Mapua.”

Vivien and Ken were amazing hosts for our stay in Mapua. The cottage is not only beautiful, but the setting could not be more scenic. In addition, Vivien and Ken were so generous with their time. They gave us lots of recommendations for things to do and they told us all about New Zealand. Ken even gave us a tour of their property, which required us to don bee keeping suits! I would highly recommend the cottage.
