“Best hotel we stayed in since our honeymoon!”
Reviewed October 6, 2009

Ettington Park Hotel is what all hotels should be, excellent service, (with a smile) immaculately clean, beautiful well appointed rooms, stunning architecture and breath-taking grounds where even the rabbits and deer wonder around happily!.

Its difficult to know what else to add to EPH reviews that everyone else hasnt already mentioned, as it is just a fantastic hotel with brilliant staff. We have just had an amazing 2 nights at this hotel and cannot wait to go back, we have already decided to go back in January to celebrate my birthday there. It really is the best hotel we have stayed at (for its historical beauty & happy service) since our honeymoon. EPH is good value for money with excellent (smiling) service. Everything went perfectly during our stay and we have nothing but admiration for this hotel, proving you do not have to spend the earth on hotel accomodation to get good service

The hotel had a mixture age of guests which was good, especially as there was quite a few other toddlers there for our daughter to play with. The hotel staff are genuine towards kids and make you feel very welcome, all staff are alert and happy to help whenever you need them without being obtrusive.

Also the food is very good, we ate at the hotel on both nights and all food we had including room service breakfasts were delicious!

We recommend this hotel highly to anyone wanting to get away to a beautiful part of the country and then wanting everything good you expect from a hotel.

Must give a mention to Rebecca in reservations who listened to every request i had with a 2yr old, and allocated us a room that gave us everything we needed to make our stay so perfect - thank you so much to all EPH staff for making our stay so lovely and enjoyable.

Very nice hotel out in the peaceful Warwickshire countryside, a few miles outside Stratford Upon Avon.

On arrival, the hotel is very imposing; very striking architecture. The staff are very attentive, and one thing we noticed was that everyone seemed to be smiling, which made a great change - so often it's the little things like that which are missing.

We were booked into Room 4, right above the main reception, but very quiet nonetheless. A very well appointed room, huge bed, lovely bathroom, all mod cons.

Small but nicely laid out health club, with pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

The Oak Room is a superb restaurant - it's not cheap, but it is very good, and the wine selection was really good!

All in all, a great location, and a very nice place for a couple of days away from the madness of the world.

The hotel is a magnificent architectural wonder set in lovely peaceful parkland within easy reach by car to Stratford upon Avon. The rooms are clean, spacious and extremely well-appointed, with nice additions such as cosy bathrobes and decent toiletries. There was a turn-down service as you would expect at this type of hotel, but no choccies on the pillow ;-(

The health club was well set out with a reasonably-sized pool, large jacuzzi, sauna & steam room, as well as plenty of good sun loungers for relaxing by the pool area. The only noticeable absence was a facility for spa treatments. This is a surprising omission for such a high standard hotel.

The restaurant was quiet & intimate and the service was excellent. We were invited to browse the menuat our leisure in a large period-furnished lounge, with a complimentary glass of pink champagne and canapes. Our waitress was Julia, who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of the gourmet menu & accompanying wines.

The following morning we took our time strolling around the extensive grounds, which includes an old ruined chapel, which only added to the romance of the location.

My lovely husband booked this hotel as a treat for my birthday and I would definitely recommend it as an ideal place to treat your loved ones! It would also be a fabulous location for a wedding or any other special occasion.

I booked this hotel because of the good reviews. The food and room were of excellent quality but the main asset was the staff. All hotels have some excellent staff but my experience in this hotel was that 100% of the staff were of the highest calibre. The hotel was either lucky or they have a good recruitment process and importantly look after their employees who stay and perform to the highest level. Whatever the reason while they have top quality staff Ettington Park will be a top hotel. My only complaints were a squeaky bed, which would have been of more concern to honeymooners, and the price of wine & drinks were high even allowing for hotel price standards. We enjoyed our stay and will use this or other hotels in the group in the future.

My husband and I stayed one night at the EPH on our way to Oswestry and wished we had stayed longer! This place is fantastic. We travel a good bit and I have to admit this is one of the most romantic, beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff is extremely helpful and kind and make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. We stayed in the Victorian Garden Suite and had wonderful views of the grounds and gardens from 2 sides. We ate at the hotel restaurant and found it to be delicious, with a very good wine list and even a separate vegetarian menu (for me). I honestly cannot find any fault in this hotel and cannot wait to come back again one day!

Wow! What a wonderful hotel. The building and surrounding area is beautiful, staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Hotel and room spotlessly clean. Bathroom had a massive deep bath, big shower and a lovely view of the old chapel (Room 1) The bed was huge and very comfy ( maybe softer pillows would have made it a little comfier but still slept very well) a massive flat screen t.v brought the room bang up to date. A fridge is supplied in the room with fresh milk (nice touch) and 2 very comfy chairs and a small table in the window meant you could sit and look at the lovely view in comfort.
Pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna all very clean and contemporary, everything in the spa looked brand new and again spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was fine, my husband had room service due to him having to leave for work early. It was delivered at the correct time and was hot with plenty of toast, coffee and all looked fresh and good quality ingredients.
I went to breakfast later on and had no problems at all, loved the little jug of orange juice that was brought to my table, breakfast room was a bit dark but not really a problem, it's an old house so quirkiness is to be expected and a buffet breakfast in an old chapel is pretty cool!
Bags were brought down from my room and taken out to the car by Damon who I thought was great! He chatted the whole time about the history of the house, the ghosts and what the surrounding area could offer I wish my staff were this good!
Overall I loved the hotel, it's not often you stay somewhere these days that has a bit of a wow factor but this place did. If you fancy eating out about 3 miles away there is a lovely gastro pub called The Howard Arms in a place called Ilmington we had a really enjoyable meal there. We Will definitely be staying at Ettington park again, hopefully in Nov when the log fires will be lit and the grounds will be covered by a sprinkling of frost magical!
