Naran is a surprising little glitzy holiday town with many hotels. The Royal probably fits on the high side of average for the town. It is situated down a short alley off the main street which is probably a good thing given how active the town is in the evenings. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. There is no lift but it wasn't too much effect to carry my bag up to the 1st floor. The room was fairly standard with twin beds, a couple of chairs and a coffee table. There was also a flatscreen TV but no kettle. There was no A/C or fan. It wasn't needed that night but I am sure there are times when a fan would be welcome.

The bathroom was spacious with a shower that was not enclosed. I made the mistake of walking into the room in bare feet when the floor was wet and found it dangerously slippy. Bath sandals were provided - and should be used! There was no hairdryer.

In room wifi was available. The connection was very slow but stable. There was a power outage during the day and there was no evidence of a back up generator in the hotel.

Overall the Royal Hotel is fine for a night or two and well placed for exploring the town.

Beautiful hotel with beautiful views. Rooms were neat & clean. Front desk staff was very polite & co-operative. Food & service was also good. But wi-fi was very poor on 2nd floor. Hotel have a lot of space for cars parking. Paid 4000 for family suite & for standard room rent was 3500 (off season rates)

This hotel wasn’t an obvious choice because it’s kind of hidden inside a narrow street. But once you go inside, they have quite a spacious parking space, not very common with other hotels.

The street is opposite Moon Restaurant and the building itself is quite big when compared to other hotels in the area. Since it’s on the backside, the noise from the Bazaar doesn’t bother you much and you also get the views of the mountains.

Their rooms are basic but comfortable. Fresh linen, clean carpets, hot water, good views, toiletries - all the basic necessities are met.

Breakfast option is limited to paratha (deep fried, won’t recommend), toast/jam/butter, and French toast - but then you don’t find any other options in the region anyway so it does the job. The restaurant offers good dinner menu, especially in Chinese cuisine. LOVED their corn soup - tasted absolutely fresh, delicious and was good value for money too as it was 380 for 4 people. Highly recommended. (My family didn’t like their chai)

We initially wanted to stay at PTDC but found it to be quite out of the way as we wanted to stroll around the main bazaar. If you are going for bazaar, stay around the Main Street. But if you are going for quiet R&R, stay at PTDC is recommended.

Stayed here recently with family on a trip on Eid Ul Adha with family. It is nicely located in middle of bazar. Though not an ideal location for resort type setting next to a water way. The hotel is pretty standard nothibg special about it. Breakfast was served in room and was fine. Rooms are big and spacious. I had a standard room and a suite room both were decently sized. Washrooms in both rooms have both english and local commodes. Hot water was available for shower in washrooms. Overall it was fine for the amount paid.
