This truly is the best experience the County has to offer. Pizzas cooked in front of you using local ingredients, accompanied by wine made steps away, in the company of a magnanimous host and all enjoyed in the sun on the patio. I don't know why you'd have lunch anywhere else!

While visiting Prince Edward County wineries, we
Timed it to arrive at Norman Hardie Winery at lunch time to take advantage of their delicious pizzas cooked in their own wood fired pizza over; should have realized that others would want to do this as well. It was very busy, and tables out on the pizza patio with shade umbrellas were at a premium. The staff were great however, and when we took a very hot sunny table, our server manhandled a large wooden tub and large umbrella over to our table. The pizza was excellent and we tried four different ones. Service was a bit slow, but it was very busy.

The staff upstairs at the tasting bar were knowledgable and helpful.

You will find no better hospitality and friendliness in the county. You will be swept away on a flow of spectacular wine, from the crisp Riesling to the warm County Pinot... After a tasting you can then go and relax on their patio, enjoying the view of the vineyards and enjoy a delicious pizza from the wood fired pizza oven.

World Class Sommelier / Winemaker Norman Hardie has captured P.E.C. essence with his winery. Professional, knowledgeable staff attend every detail. The wood fired oven out on the patio expertly fires authentic pizza for lunch. Must try Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Reisling complete the experience package. 5 Stars! But enough waxing poetic, GO TRY IT! 5 Stars.

Norman Hardie Winery is a working farm/vineyard and a real jewel for anyone who has discovered it. As a stop on a bike tour (very close to Wellington), as a day trip where you go to the beach and stop for some pizza and wine, as a chance to discuss wine with the former sommellier of the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto who has helped establish vineyards not only in Canada, but South Africa and Australia. Don't miss it.

If you get a chance to meet Norm, whatever question you may have about his wine or any wine around the world, he is an expert and can probably talk soil samples as intelligently. If he is away, Johannes or whomever gives the tour are all excellent.
