My wife and I stayed at Notchland for two nights as part of a pre-arranged hiking tour package in the White Mountains. There is no more centrally located base for access to the parks and hiking. There is no more serene, comfortable, and excellent-dining inn anywhere. No TV (good for me) but excellent Wi-Fi access. Quiet quiet quiet. The spacious series of decorated dining rooms (all windows, loads of hummingbirds) are wonderful early in the morning -- sit in isolation, have a cup of hot coffee before breakfast hours begin, and read or think. The hosts are kind and generous to a fault. The setting is gorgeous and their garden is beautiful. The house is loaded with history -- be sure to read about Dr. Bemis and the Crawfords.

I hope I can come back. We're felt at home and couldn't refuse to stay when we happened upon this hotel on a road trip through the white mountains. Hospitality was faultless. Adam, Les, Chef and the other members of the team, including the fuzzy Newfoundlands looked after us as family. Our room was idyllic. We came away wanting more. Oh and the food alone was worth the stay, but the humming birds outside the restaurant windows made it magical!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Jefferson suite. Most have fireplaces, ours had a shower, others had baths. Our roo...

We stayed at the Notchland Inn recently and enjoyed our stay. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and the portions are generous. There are hummingbirds at every window in the dining room!

They have two large dogs that are hairy and friendly. They are allowed in the dining room which bothered us a little even though I love dogs.

The staff was friendly, but the owners did not introduce themselves so we never really met Ed and Les.

All in all, we had a really nice time. They have trails down to the Saco River with spots to swim. The weather didn't cooperate for swimming this time, but we did see a BEAR on our walk!

Room Tip: Linens are luxurious and the Kinsmen Suite has a fantastic two-person soaking tub.

The Notchland Inn is our favorite of all the B&Bs in which we have stayed, and that's worldwide. There are none better! The Notchland is beautiful, quiet, serene, well appointed, luxurious and the food is out of this world. The breakfasts and dinners are truly amazing. It's in the mountains of New Hampshire, surrounded by woods and mountains. We love the Carter Suite in the main inn -- a lovely King suite with a porch overlooking the fabulous gardens -- and the Willard Cottage, another King suite off by itself with its own garden/mountain view plus a fireplace and a double jacuzzi and a double shower. Ed and Les, the innkeepers, have been here for 20+ years and they really know how to take care of their guests. Plus we love their Bernese Mountain dogs!

My friend and I stayed at the Notchland Inn for 2 nights. It really made our stay in the White Mountains since it was raining the whole 2 days we were there for. Without the Notchland Inn, we would not have enjoyed our trip as much.

The Inn has a lot of history to show and has a great ambience. The rooms are very cozy and all come with their own fire place. Unfortunately, we were not able to taste their dinner, but the breakfast they serve is exceptional. On top of the good food, you can also watch humming birds outside the dining room windows while eating. The innkeepers are very friendly and helpful. They can give you great recommendations for what to do around the area and also help you make reservations for certain attractions.

We would definitely stay at the Notchland Inn again in the future and can only recommend it.

We booked a 2 night get away to start off our visit from my In Laws on a fun "adventure in the mountains" feeling. We could not have found a more perfect place to stay. Mark, the innkeeper recommended a great (larger) room for my husband, myself and our 3-yr-old and gave us a nearby (just as quaint and cozy) room for our folks. The property is gorgeous. Be prepared to be SWEPT AWAY by the views, the ambience, the great breakfasts, and the thoughtful surprises around every corner. (Binoculars and birdwatching book- check; tennis ball on the lawn for a quick game of toss- check; hammock with a nearby rock to rest your book and coffee - check). This was a perfect get-away. We found a great day hike to Sawyer Pond, and a great festival in Conway, and enjoyed Mount Washington. (but to be honest, we enjoyed the cozy inn so much I might not go to Mt. Washington at all next time we're up). ENJOY, you will NOT be dissappointed. We will be back Mark and team!!!

We spent our 10th wedding anniversary at the Notchland Inn this Memorial Day weekend and it was absolutely fabulous. The innkeepers really made the weekend. Adam, who teaches ice climbing, gave us great hiking tips. Les and Ed are just the most laid-back, gracious hosts, and the dogs are a gem. Actually there are a host of other staff from the hostesses, the cooks, the maid, who are all just wonderful, friendly, and welcoming. The dinner is very good, and worth the $40pp, especially since the inn is located a few miles away from anywhere. We were there to hike Mt. Washington, which is about 15 minutes away. The scenery is beautiful. The rooms are cozy. The woodburning fireplaces are a nice touch. They have gotten new linens since some of the reviews said that they are tired so I don't have any complaints about the bed. Overall, a great experience and this is coming from a person who traveled 5 days a week for work for three years.

Room Tip: Crawford has great views out both windows, but we peeked into Kinsman, and they have a HUGE bathtub...
