“Very Welcoming but not worth the money”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Myself, husband, sister and brother-in-law enjoyed a lovely weekend away in one of the cottages. The property, staff and friendly dogs were great but for the price we expected more. The breakfast was nothing to jump at. The cottage offered great views of the mountains and the snow as it fell. The fireplace and large tub was a nice romantic touch. The kitchen lacked a few items that I would assumed to be stocked in any suite kitchen. The Inn also lacks cell service which we didn't know until we got there. Both mornings I had under cooked eggs. In every room of the cottage one of the ceiling seams were peeling away. If we had to do it all over again we would stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Bring a few DVD's (not Blu Rays) and games

My wife and I enjoyed a very lovely 5 course dinner for Valentines Day. The courses were each interesting and well prepared and presented. The atmosphere was lovely and the wait staff were charming. A great place for a special treat.

The Notchland Inn is a wonderful place loaded with history and in a prime location in the White Mts. of NH. Only reason for 4 star instead of 5 is that the bathroom in our room could use some major updating and so I felt it was a bit overpriced. But other then that our room was large, clean and cozy with a wood burning fireplace that transports you back in time and makes for a completely romantic feel. The view of the mountains is outstanding from the upstairs rooms. Breakfast is included and is a full choice menu.
We had dinner at the Inn and it was 5 course with choices of fish, beef or chicken for main and wonderful appetizers, soup, salad and desserts. It's worth the price.

The staff at the Inn are lovely and very accommodating and happy to share Inn history. Another wonderful feature is the cottages that allow for pets.

The skiing and hiking in the area make this an all year choice. Can't wait to go back in summer to see the gardens.

Room Tip: Crawford has great mountain views. I think all rooms have working fireplaces.

This is a very warm and welcoming place. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful from the beginning of our telephone conversation when we made our reservation through the end of our stay and beyond. Just today we received an email with the photos they took of us as we were getting ready to head back home.

Our family of 4 plus our dog stayed for 2 days just after Christmas. We stayed in one of the cottages, where we had our own kitchen, fireplace, and jacuzzi. Very private, but only a few steps in the morning to the main house for a delicious, hearty breakfast. The hosts bent over backwards to make everything perfect, providing a cot for one of the kids and even a crate for the dog. Their own dogs greeted ours like an old friend and made her feel comfortable. The main house is gorgeous and steeped in history. The owners had it decorated for Christmas with a tree in almost every room and great details everywhere. They are as friendly as can be. The entire stay was wonderful.

Room Tip: Pick the cottages for privacy

We spent a week-end in November at Notchland and my wife and I loved it! The staff was great. Very friendly and eager to make your stay memorable. I would highly recommend having dinner there as well even if you are not staying there as the dinner was well worth the price. Breakfast was just as good and the owners and staff again were always there to make sure your stay was everything you expected. I had never stayed in an inn before but would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money for the cottages. Well worth it if your looking for privacy.

My boyfriend surprised me with a weekend away at the Notchland Inn for my 30th birthday in early January. It was just a 3 hour drive from Boston but felt like a world away- Our room (Evans) was beautiful with a jacuzzi and two sided fireplace, we enjoyed the delicious five course dinner and the great breakfast (try the almond/maple french toast!). There are a lot of activities nearby- from miles of snowshoe trails literally right outside the front door, to shopping and nightlife in North Conway. The Inn Keepers are so welcoming and make you feel right at home, and the two Bernese Mountain Dogs are adorable. We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to going back in warmer weather so we can hike nearby!
