“A great hostel in a place full of history”

So to speak in a few words, I would say Meraba Guest House is an island of Occidentalism, in a Slavic sea. And not because it is a location in Western-style, on the contrary, many things are in Oriental style (Tartar), but because the services are at the Western level.
Unfortunately we stayed only one night here, it would have deserved to stay longer, because the places are very beautiful and at Meraba Guest House the owner and staff are very friendly and helpfull, speak English and are ready to help you in any aspect.
The price / quality ratio is excellent.
If you come here, do not miss a visit to the Khan Palace, Miniature Park, Dormition Monastery and "cave town", Ghufut-Kale.

This great guest house is the perfect place to stay while you explore beautiful Bakhchisaray. The staff are all great, most speak English, and Pavol, the host, is a volume of information on the region, particularly hiking trails. He is infinitely patient and will spend all the time you need to be sure that you are setting off on the right trip for your interests and stamina. The rooms are small as is always the case in Ukraine, but bright and spotless. Get a room with a balcony on the front. The view is wonderful and will entertain you endlessly. The breakfast in the pavilions in the garden is a great way to start your day and there are very good restaurants serving Crimean Tartar food just a short walk away. The Khan Palace is very interesting as is the restored Madrassa up toward the hiking trails. We spent 3 days here in May and had the best time of our Crimean trip because of the the friendly welcoming atmosphere.

Room Tip: On the front with a balcony.

Meraba is a great place to stay for a visit to old Bakhchiserai. The staff is friendly, helpful, and create an inviting mood for any length stay. It is centrally located in the old town, and a room with a balcony will give you great views of the surroundings. If you are tied to the internet, don't worry, it works in the rooms and in the garden area in front of the hotel.

I drove from Simferopol without GPS or detailed maps, so I had to stop and ask directions a few times (I speak Russian, so that helped). If you are in your own transportation, just get to the old town (Khan's Palace - everybody can give you directions to it). There is one main street running through the old town, and once you are on it, you will see the Meraba's sign.

I lived in Sarajevo many, many years ago, and Bakhchiserai, albeit much, much smaller, brought back fond memories. I hope to go back to Bakhchiserai while I am in Russia this fall, and definitely plan to stay at Meraba.

Immediately upon our arrival we were kindly received in perfect English, supplied with brochures, maps, and all sorts of information which is particularly rare in Ukraine. Unfortunately, this never happened again on our whole journey! To relax or for breakfast there are cosy pavilions with divans in the garden which match perfectly with the oriental ambience of the town. The Khan Palace can be reached on foot in a few minutes as well as the bus to go to the Uspensky Monastery and Chufut-Kale. So you don’t need your car on site.
Our room (for 3 people) was quite small and modestly furnished. With the low price, however, one must not expect more! It was clean and really good value! Don't miss Bakhchysarai! It was the absolute highlight of our trip to Crimea!

We spent a lovely two nights here this July. The owners/staff are friendly and helpful without getting up in your business, and their English is very good (I don't speak Russian, although my husband does). The room itself was small but clean and quite pleasant, and the balcony was large, and had a beautiful view over the Khan Palace and the surrounding countryside - I especially loved watching the swallows swooping around at dusk. I particularly liked that there was a kitchen with utensils etc. available to use - it allowed us to enjoy light meals on our balcony. They were working on the front yard when we were there, and it's going to be very pleasant, with nice fruit trees, bright flowers, and those shaded tables where guests can sit and eat or read or work on their laptops - free wifi! The location is perfectly situated for visiting the Khan Palace and other attractions. Overall this is a great little place with a lot of personality at a very reasonable price.

Excellent clean, quiet, modern rooms overlooking the old town of Bakhchisaray. The Khan's Palace is just around the corner. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and they speak good English. The hotel is great value for money and you can eat good breakfasts in the garden for a few Hryvina extra. We'd strongly recommend Bakhchisaray as a destination and the Meraba.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the building have balconies and a pleasant view over the old town.
