“Best bed & breakfast in Fielding”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

We stayed at Aroha in March. We arrived exhausted after a long drive but this was soon forgotten. John greeted us with a warm smile and the offer of tea and biscuits served in the beautiful garden. It felt like heaven and we had only just arrived. The room was deluxe, big comfy bed, walk in wardrobe, spacious and spotless en-suite bathroom. We both wished we had booked a few more nights. We didn't think it could get much better but it did. Reena provided us with a beautiful breakfast, homemade jams, rhubarb from the garden and as much coffee as we could drink. John & Reena are fantastic they have a beautiful home, warm hospitality and a bed and breakfast you just have to return to. Thank you Sue & Steve Jennings

Room Tip: Book more than one night

Our little group stayed @ 'Aroha B&B' both before and after our trip canoeing down the Whanganui. Reena and John were kind, attentive and engaging hosts. The freshly baked bread for breakfast, freshly-laid eggs, muffins, and homemade jams were a delicious extra to the already warm hospitality. And then quite apart from the very comfortable, roomy house, there was the lovely tranquil garden surrounding the house. It could not have been a better experience. Thank you Reena and John.

My wife and I stayed at Aroha for one night in January. I booked it based on TA reviews, before we left the UK, and it certainly lived up to our expectations.
Reena and John made us feel at home as soon as we arrived.
The queen room was excellent with patio doors leading into the beautiful garden, & they were very convenient for taking the cases in and out.
It was a ten minute walk to the centre of Feilding for a restraunt so no need to get back into the car, after the drive from New Plymouth.
Feilding is well placed for travelling to and from Wellington & Aroha makes the ideal stopover.

Travelling up the west coast of North Island, Feilding is one of those places which you just happen to pass through, as there is little to attract the tourist. However, in our case, it was a convenient place to break our journey and we found a little gem in the centre of a housing estate.

The lengthy drive suddenly opened up into the most delightful of gardens, which totally surrounded the house, and the warmth of the welcome by Reena and John had to be seen to be believed, with afternoon tea and home made cake. The 'Queen' en suite room was well equipped, with a very comfortable bed, which helped to give a good night's sleep.

I needed somewhere to stay at short notice and when I rang one night a bit later than I should have John was very pleasant and accommodating. When I arrived a couple of days later, the directions were good and though I was looking a bit bedraggled I was warmly welcomed. John and Reena were very friendly and helpful.
The Queen room I stayed in was clean and tidy and I wanted for nothing. I have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Aroha B&B.
Thanks John and Reena.

An excellent B&B. A lovely home set in a beautiful garden. Our ensuite bedroom was perfect, the breakfast of a high standard and nothing was too much trouble. Renee and Alan went out of their way to be helpful.

Warm welcome and a very easy going friendly couple. Felt at home, relaxed and well looked after. The house is well kept, and the rose garden created a nice setting. The room I stayed in was clean and tidy. The double bed was a little soft, and I need to stretch a bit in the morning but apart from that, I was well rested. Recommended.
