We stayed in Barton Lodge for three nights. We arrived late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to find the owner had lit the log burner for us and left some essential items so we could make a cup of tea. She was very helpful and recommended places to eat and pick up groceries as well as giving us some tips for the log burners and leaving us enough wood and coal to see us through our three nights. The lodge house itself was in good decorative order and had plenty of space for the four of us (two adults, two children). It had a delightful private garden although we didn't make much use of it due to the weather. We had a car but did notice that the lodge is on a bus route with a bus stop very nearby. Also Osborne House is within walking distance. We would definitely go back again.
