We checked into the Plaza at the end of the season when things are quieter anyway.... But checked out the very next day...
I felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff who were busy watching football!
Our room was musty. The breakfast was a dissapointment & the bus service unreliable.
We checked into the Galaxy Hotel, which is closer to Naxos Town & the pool is more sheltered from wind.
I wouldn't recommend Plaza Beach Hotel.
You definitely need your own transport to stay here.

This month we have been 3 days at the Plaza Beach Hotel. The hotel was pleasant but it was far from the city, about 20 minutes in bus, but there were good connections with the city hourly. A nice thing was that when we arrived to the port a van was waiting for us and the driver was really nice and helpful.

The facilities of the hotel were well and new, we did not go to the swimming pool because the wind was very annoying, so we went to the beach because it was more comfortable, and Plaka´s beach was wonderful and very calm.

Our stay was very nice but we have 2 complaints: “the staff” was not friendly; we felt like they did not like their jobs, they were not professional. And the second point was, that our room smelled really bad, to humidity.

In any case our stay was nice.

Had a triple room (2 Adults, 1 child) for 2 weeks on a B&B basis in August. Lovely room, but not with a sea view which was a little disappointing. The room was very clean and comfortable and everything worked (which can be a rarity in Greece).

Breakfasts fantastic, lots of choice - caters for every taste & appetite. Little disappointed with the dinner options. We were not half board but thought we'd try eating at the hotel one evening. The charge would have been 12 euros per head (including our child) for a buffet so we decided against it and walked to the good taverna a few minutes away at Petrino Sport instead. There are lots of good tavernas within easy reach - including at Maragas and Aghia Anna so half board not necessary (but they do tend to 'run out' of many menu items early so have a limited choice)

Lovely large pool which did not get crowded, even in August (we never had any problems finding sun loungers for the pool side). Just steps away from glorious beach - on which the hotel also provide loungers (again, we never had any problem finding enough available).

As for the staff, in reception they were helpful and whilst the restaurant staff could perhaps be a bit more proactive, they were pleasant - just a bit hot & busy I think.

The hotel could do with providing a little more information on the local area for those customers not booking through a travel company (several Italian & German operators include the hotel in their programme)

We have been going to Naxos on and off for about 11 years now and watched it slowly grow in it's focus towards tourism. Naxos is still thankfully a great tourist destination, perfect for what we like to do which is basically not a lot! Just enjoying the island and eating and drinking.

The Plaza Beach has been open now for just over two years, I think, and resides on our favourite beach of the island, Plaka. The hotel is very clean and well equipped (for hotels in the Greek Islands, that is) It seems to be predominantly used by Italians and Germans, more of whom later. All rooms have air conditioning (lovely, esp in July!) and double glazing. These features plus firm but comfortable beds make for very restful sleep!

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, which we found excellent (again, by Greek standards), with the food fresh and covered, essential for a self serve basis. What I would suggest is NOT to stay on any other basis (i.e half board, as there is a wealth of fantastic restaurants not only in the town, about 15 mins away, but also at Agia Anna, especially the large taverna on the corner by the little harbour! The most expensive meal (for 2) that we had, including drinks, was 36 Euros!

Now for the gripes, albeit minor ones.

Firstly, we agree with the other report regarding the hotel staff, who could do with some 'let's be welcoming and friendly to guests' training.

Try not to visit the pool bar if you either hungry or thirsty. How a bar with at least 4 staff can take so long to serve you is beyond me. This is a great shame as it is a nice spot to chill out in the shade. We tried the bar twice, but gave up and visited the bars in Agia Anna instead.

If your idea of a relaxing holiday is laying by the pool, then nice as the pool is, every 15 minutes or so during the day, the public bus pulls up right along side to turn around at the end of it's bus route. I find it strange to understand why the hotel have allowed this to happen. We found it even stranger to understand why anyone would want to lie around the pool when a mere 5 metres away is what is reputed to be one of the 10 best beaches in Europe!!!

Final gripe, again only relevant to those who do want to sit around the pool. You will have to get up and down to the pool before 7am (seriously!) if you want to beat our German friends to the sunloungers with their towels.

All in all, despite what we have said above, it really is the best hotel that we have stayed in, in Greece, and it is in a marvellous location. We will be returning next year.

NOTE: We would highly recommend having transport for your entire stay.

My husband and I have just returned from a very nice stay at the Plaza Beach Hotel. The hotel is in the perfect location. Away from the crowds. We arrived from the ferry and there was a van waiting to take us to the hotel. Plaza Beach Hotel is about 30 minutes from the port. When we arrived we were impressed. The rooms were very nice, but I can't imagine having more than two adults in the room. I think it would be a bit cramped if we had children with us. The hotel is across the street from the beach. It's a dirt road and out of the way so there isn't much traffic. The beach isn't crowded which we enjoyed.
The pool is in the front of the hotel and it isn't blocked from the wind. It can get a bit chilly when swimming.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel and will most definitely return. With that being said, we didn't like two things about the hotel. First, was the food. We opted for the half board at 10 Euro per person. The food was not warm. It would have been a wonderful dinner had the food been warmed accordingly. But for 10 Euro I can't complain too much. Another complaint was the staff. They were cordial but not overly friendly. We felt like they just didn't want to be there. Or maybe they were wishing they were on the wonderful beaches instead of working. I've had that thought from time to time. Minor annoyances but I felt they were worth mentioning. The hotel is still new so I'm sure these are some issues that will be ironed out with time. Other than those two issues our stay was perfect. We will be going back next year.
