My fiance and I were Horizon's last guests of the summer season in September 2011. We were very pleased with the service provided by the waitstaff (a very sweet and hardworking young Czech woman) and the owner/manager Demitrios. Our room (25 Euro per night!) had two twins pushed together and a very large deck which offered sea views. It was clean and the air conditioning worked perfectly. It was pretty buggy at night.
The pension is one main building consisting of a variety of sized rooms and studio apartments. Guest share a main dining room, bar, and outdoor patio. There is an empty field that separates the patio from Horizon's private beach front access. We were told by Demitrios that they are waiting approval to develop that field into a garden with pool. The prices will surely go up significantly once that project is approved and developed.
The Horizon is a 20 minute car ride from the port town. Public transportation from the pension to town is available but only accessible by walking along the beach about a half mile to a bus stop. There is plenty of parking at Horizon and we regretted not renting a car during our stay on Naxos.
We ate most meals there during our 4 night stay. Prices were very reasonable. The food was very good but not great. There is an adjacent hotel that has a restaurant and the food there was slightly more expensive but wonderful.
