We found Casa da Eira by the excellent signs to a "Casa Rural". The house was being painted and everything is very well cared for as are the guests! We had a room with a view down towards the river. Everything was in good taste and in keeping with the style of the house and village. Our hosts served a simple breakfast of juice, bread and honey. The secret is that the honey collection, refining and sale is also a part of the business. We asked and were shown the facility (on site) where the honey is processed!
There is a kitchen where we cooked dinner one of the two nights we were staying, and ate out in Lousa the other night. Nothing was too much trouble and our hosts were attentive but not invasive. A perfect combination. One of our two most favorite places on a 3 week trip in Portugal. We will return!
