We just finished a lovely three day weekend at the Hunter Hideaway Farm. This was our first time doing a farmstay, so we weren't sure how we would like it.
We are converts!
The Birt's farm is very secluded and quiet and with very little light pollution so the stars are incredible at night. Everything was as described in their site and the hosts were lovely people who were not at all intrusive and we're happy for you to have a nice quiet weekend.
Their farm is massive and we barely saw any of it, but we enjoyed patting the horses.
Even though the farm is quite secluded, the vineyards and town are quite close and we had no trouble getting around at all. We loved all of the pottery and art that was around!
As for the cottage itself - for two people it was heaps of room and the hosts seem to have thought of everything - there were lots of teas to choose from and the like. Couches were comfy and so was the bed.
One of the cutest things we found were the Miner birds. We saw a note about how they like to tap in the windows and true to the note, they were like an adorable alarm clock! It got us up and out seeing things rather than lying in bed (might as well stay at home!).
We also loved the spa. The Birts were happy for us to use it whenever and it was so nice to relax and watch the fog roll in and the sun set.
In closing, we cannot wait to go back. It's the perfect little get away spot!
