“Great attraction”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

Walked up to the Lighthouse with a 7 y.o., it's pretty safe for kids on calm weather, and the views are gorgeous. The beach is wide on low tide, with a a very nice golden sand. Very relaxing.

“Off the beaten path”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

East of Masterton, NZ Castlepoint is a great find. Castlepoint Point Motel offers very workable accommodations. Stock up as you go through Masterton. The New World Market on the way out of town is as good a stop as any. "Discovered" by Capt. John Cook, this dramatic point is topped by a tall iron sheathed light house and neighbors Deliverance Bay. A hike to Castlepoint takes about 90 minutes, but stunning views make the strenuous trip worth it.

“Amazing Wairarapa Scenery”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

Great wairarapa attraction. Safe swimming at the beach, fishing off the rocks, surfing at the gap or just walks up to the Lighthouse to admire the views.

“An absolute must visit”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

We got an absolute gem of a day, almost no wind and the sun was out.We had a cuppa at the tearooms and a bite to eat and it was all good.
A couple of rest rooms in the area and plenty of seating available and with the walk to the lighthouse and onto the rocks for some great photo's but be careful.Carry on for a walk along the sand which is a very sheltered part and walk up castle rock if you wish.So heaps of photo opportunities, even if you only walk up to the lighthouse go to the top of the wooden steps next to it and you will not be disappointed the views are fantastic.
A good pair of comfortable shoes and a camera are a must. Can be a very windy place so be careful if it is and enjoy.

“Fantastic place to relax and enjoy!”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

The camping ground at Castlepoint is right on the beach with unobstructed views of the lighthouse that has been reflecting it's warning light to mariners since 1913.
The camp is a great starting place for the many interesting walks in the area, details of which are available at the camp office.
Unlike many holiday spots, there are a number of seats and tables to rest and take in the scenery.
The facilities within the camp are spotlessly clean and well presented.
The area is know to be windy but there are so many other pluses it's not hard to still enjoy a wonderful holiday there.
