After reading some advices on Trip Advisor, I took my Thai friends to this newly opened restaurant to thank them for hosting me while I was in Chiang Mai , and to let them taste some food from my mother country .
I was very anxious as myself I was discovering this Vietnamese restaurant at the same time as my hosts, but when we arrived, the beautiful setting calmed my fears.
The owner is a very friendly Vietnamese who used to live in Paris, so I could speak with him in French and Vietnamese.
I told him I was a bit nervous,as my friends will certainly compare this meal with their own good Thai food, but with his valuable help ,I was able to order a very large sample of the dishes displayed on the card/menu , as we were 12 starving stomachs.
The food was simply out of this world, very close to my mother's cuisine in Vietnam, and the taste and seasonings are 100 miles from all what I have eaten in Paris Chinatown or in Californian Little Saigon.
My Thai friends were delighted with this superb meal ,and will definitely bring their friends to this welcoming MAI SAIGON new restaurant in Mae Rim,to discover and enjoy new dishes .
