Very beautfiul resort in amazing garden/jungle in Thailand style, with rice fields. Amazing sunrise view. Very nice rooms, we have had Rice Terrace Pavilon, with very nice view on rice fields. Everything was high class, very helpful staff and service, great food. Exceptionally very good SPA with skillfull personel. Not cheap place, but that's the Four Seasons standard. Exepct price I could recommend to stay.

Dear Shandir,
Thank you for recommending us and for sharing such a wonderful review here on Tripadvisor! I am pleased that you were able to appreciate all of the natural beauty and surroundings as well as engage with the amazing team that we have. The spa is a wonderful centre for healing and regeneration and it certainly sounds as though it worked its magic on you.
I hope it will not be long before we can welcome you back.
Kind regards,

Admittedly the hubby and I didn't actually stay here, we simply drank and dined here but that doesn't exclude my opinion of this truly stunning hotel. We started with gin and tonics on the daybeds in the scorching Thailand sun and nibbled away at the assortment of nuts and kaffir lime leaves that accompanied our (many) drinks. Beautiful views and grounds to look at but the best was yet to come for we had booked an evening at the four seasons cookery school that very evening! Now I can highly recommend this, it's a great evening starting with canapés and cocktails on arrival and you get to study the chefs as they whip up some amazing treats, all of which you get to freely sample. You are encouraged to ask questions and get involved and then everyone sits down to feast on a banquet of truly exquisite Thai food, all expertly cooked as you watch and with each course comes an abundance of wine, a truly magnificent evening that we didn't want to end!

Dear helenmakin123,
Thank you for sharing such a fabulous review of your experience with us here on Tripadvisor. It is wonderful to read that in addition to the guests who stay with us, there are also non-resident guests who have just a memorable time with us.
I could not agree more with your description of the Khantok Dinner, it is an amazing experience. We have recently added a new Instructor to the Cooking School Team (Chef Pirun) who spent time working in Huddersfield too! Perhaps one day you will return to see if you recognise him from one of your local Thai restaurants!
We look forward to seeing you again soon.

The worse thing I have to say about this place is that it was so tranqil and beautiful that we were reluctant to get out and see Chian Mai. Our room was romantic and beautifully appointed -- I loved sitting in our treetop veranda just watching the trees and reading. The grounds were interesting and beautiful, the food excellent. We tried yoga and massage at the spa and enjoyed both.

Room tip: The buildings have two stories and I think the rooms above are probably more fun than those below.

Dear Pennypeteric,
I was delighted to read that the worst thing you found about your stay was a positive thing! You have certainly captured the essence of our resort in your review and thank you for taking the time to share it.
I hope that in the not too distant future you will choose to return and spend some more time relaxing and unwinding on your beautiful upstairs sala!
Very best regards,
Charles

This place is an amazing setting. 30-40mins away from Chiang Mai proper.
But I a lot closer to Mae Sa elephant park, tiger kingdom, long neck tribe, and a bunch of out of town activities. Orchid farm is walking distance (note exit through residences parking lot to save a few steps).

Make sure to schedule a few days of resort time. Wed and sat mornings, you can experience rice transplanting. Never thought I'd pay 4seasons rates to plant rice, but it was fun to do it physically. I could spend a few days here without leaving resort grounds.

Jacuzzi and pool in the middle of rice terraces... Enough said.

Service was impeccable, facilities and landscaping provides a relaxing environment. Does not feel like its 16 yrs old at all. Everything is well kept.

Spa definitely deserves the Conde nast top rating.
Gecko club (kids club) is newly renovated, Heather and Apple were great with the little one. Full day of activities, so you can confidently dump the kids off for a relaxing day.

Room service is great considering we needed multiple showers a day to cool off.

The flower arrangements in every building were awesome, fruit plate that gets refilled is a nice touch.

Overall just a wonderful experience!

Tips:
We did not use concierge car service, which was really expensive, but the car I saw was a nice MB E class, maybe that's why it was thb 3000+ per day (per person I think). We took taxi from airport thb 480. Then booked the taxi driver for full day for excursions outside. Thb 1200 +/- 200 depending on how long a day it is. Worked out well for us. Resort does not have shuttle to excursions, but there are multiple shuttles to/for Chiangmai night bazaar area.

Best to get a package with breakfast included. Otherwise the buffet is thb1000+service and tax per person. Nice hot items in the courtyard, and cold items in the dining area. We sat in courtyard first morning not realizing there was much more items inside.

Orchid farm across the street has decent restaurant at very reasonable prices, nice for a change from the resort dining options.

Definitely worth visiting!

Room tip: Upgrade to rice field view may not seem like much, but definitely a nice upgrade compared to std garden view. I normally don't think much of an "upgrade" to a room with a view, but this one was worth mentioning and considering.

Dear pvnco,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such an extensive review of your recent stay with us! I was thrilled to read that you had such a wonderful experience. As you noted, we are located out of town, but with so much to do in the local area and with the daily shuttles there is more than enough to keep everyone occupied and amazed during their stay!
I noted your comment on breakfast and have discussed with the team how we can better introduce our guests to breakfast on their first morning, I would hate for anyone to miss out on our amazing spread of home baked breads and pastries! Also, for the hotel car service, you are correct we do have a fleet of brand new E class Mercedes, but we only charge for the car, not per person.
Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and I hope it will not be long before we have the pleasure of seeing you again!
Very best regards,
Charles
