“Interesting but crocs seemed sad”

Maerim Crocodile Show
Attraction details
Reviewed October 24, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I went here and sort of left with mixed feelings about it.

When we arrived we were shown some baby crocs which we got to hold and take pictures with which was very cute.

They had an iguana in a cage that my husband held for a photo, it seemed alert enough but the cage looked too small for such a big reptile to be kept in.

My husband then paid the extra 100 baht to go into the adult croc pen and get photos with one of the big crocs and we then watched the show where the man puts his head inside a crocs mouth and kisses then etc

Whilst it was entertaining it was also sad to see so many crocs in such a small space and they all seemed very out of it, we are from Australia so know how agressive crocs can be and these ones seemed to be very dosile and it seemed unnatural and sad.

It is a very small place and apart from the croc show there isn't much to see.

If you are in the area and are interested then drop in for a look but not worth making a special trip for.

I can only assume that these poor crocs were doped. The guy doing all of the daredevil head and arm in the croc's mouth stuff made sure that the poor croc's limbs were completely motionless and limp before doing any of his daredevil stuff. Save your cash for a massage instead.

Ended up here, because we were curious to see a croc farm and missed the one outside of bangkok. We wouldn't go to the bangkok one because they mistreat tigers and elephants there. Here they only mistreat crocs.
Wound on the snout of the croc. Dirty dirty water. Hitting the animals with sticks. Walked around the tiny place, there is a area for young crocs and there was a dead one right up against the gate. And hundreds of other ones in horrible conditions.

The attendants were working within the provided environe and tried hard to trick up a show from a few tired crocs, they had to tease them up to get a reaction and did try to involve the audience.

For the price we paid , was entertaining to see the daring thai keepers puting their hands and head into the mouth of the crocodile. Yikes.. was so scary but entertaining to watch. Got a chance to hold the baby crocs too.
