“Tranquille and Green”

I stayed 5 nights for a "Jucing it" detoxing package. The hotel is located far from city, in the mountain. It's really a nice, tranquille place, air is so refreshing. I cannot comment the food because didn't get chance to eat. But spa here's definitely worth trying, and for reasonable price.

I will definitely come back again, to enjoy the place and Yoga. But maybe no more detoxing or fastening, because I don't really enjoy getting starved.

I spent a week doing the detox fast and found the staff very friendly and very helpful. However, considering I didn't eat for nearly a week and the rooms, while comfortable, are fairly basic, I found the price high. I think there's better value elsewhere. I understand The Spa in Koh Samui is much cheaper.

I'm very happy you had a good detox, and would encourage you to do one yearly. I'm not as happy about you thinking the rooms are overpriced, I would love to hear from you as to why you feel this way! True our basic rooms in Samui are less expensive the Chiang Mai.
I'm here to learn what will make our guests happy and help them learn more about there good health.

Staff was nice ....walking around the place is tricky especially if it is the slightest bit wet, forget the food. Never been to their other place, but this one is riding on the other's reputation. Save your baht and go elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ground floor near the pool.

Away from everything and about 40 minutes from Chiangmai city, The Spa Resorts is a great place to stay if your holiday objectives are simply to relax in a controlled environment.

Rooms are large and comfortable with lovely green grounds. You may sign up for the yoga retreat or the detox retreat which the resort is well-known for. Note: The spa serves delicious raw foods and tasty thai options. You might not want to do a detox holiday with such taste bud-tantalizing selection of food. Radiant Food is apparently quite popular with the local expat community after authentic raw foods and healthy thai dishes. (You should really try the raw chocolate dessert!)

I signed up with their yoga retreat across 7-days and had a lovely relaxing stay. Long breakfasts, walks around the countryside and daily traditional thai massages were what I'd enjoyed most.

Do keep an insect repellent handy though as there are mosquitoes even during pre-wet season (May). Otherwise, the spa does sell mosquito repellent at their shop.

It would be great if the resort could provide bicycles for us to explore the countryside though.

A very disappointing experience for us. After weeks of extremely basic accommodation we decided to treat ourselves to three nights of luxury for our anniversary.
If you are thinking of staying here for accommodation, skip it. It seems to be fantastic and supportive if you are enrolled in one of the detox/ fasting programs, but there are other places to stay if you just want to relax in the beautiful environment.
We knew this would be far out of Chiang Mai city, but you really are isolated and it forces you to Utilise all their services and transport. The staff were friendly enough and spoke English well, but even they admitted it's very expensive. On top of that, the only thing that is complimentary is the water - there are no tea or coffee facilities, nor any mini-bar products (despite it being advertised), and no food at all included (we paid $10 a night right in the city before this and were provided with free breakfast and tea/coffee every morning. I struggle to understand what we actually paid for.
There is only one restaurant, and the food is (at best) mediocre. The Thai menu is really nothing special, and the Western menu almost inedible. The raw foods really excited us until we tried a few- quite flavourless and resulted in a couple of upset tummies each. The prices are extremely steep compared to other Thai restaurants, which would be okay if the food was worth it. If you want a great hotel restaurant, go to Favola at the Meridian! The Tacos and the porridge were the highlights.
The spa treatments were good, again very expensive but you do expect that. Unfortunately my partner was suffering from a few stress fractures in her foot/toes and we specified that it should be left out of the Thai massage, and this was communicated by the receptionist to the practitioner. However she still 'cracked' all of my partner's toes which was extremely painful and alarming!
What very much upset us is the laundry costs- it was more than a night's stay and it didn't include ironing. We had been volunteering and had lots of washing, and it was four times the cost of the last places we stayed in (AUD $70). The only way to get into the city to do it yourself was by the taxis they call, all of which charge upwards of bht 400 (700-800 to the airport)x
Wifi was advertised but it was broken for the first 24 hours, and patchy after that. We had been tossing up between a few places and the fact it had wifi was important to us, to get in contact with our families back home and plan the next leg of our trip.
Overall, it is the only part of the trip that we regret. You don't buy luxury or scenery that is any better than other places, so unless you are specifically visiting for the Detox, then stay somewhere else.

The location is far from everything else and downtown but that's what I enjoy about it, as it's intimate and quiet. Though it's true you will need to rent a car or pay for the hotel van to take you to downtown as shuttle services are limited. It is a haven for yoga enthusiasts as they offer retreats and workshops, as well as programmes to detox. Organic and raw food is offered on the menu especially good for those pursuing a health programme. They grow their own crops and fertilized organically and have a very large (several hectares) of land, and free tour of their crop farm is offered which is very enjoyable if you don't mind the mud. Cottages are available for investment which is good if you are middle age and looking to retire this could be a place to live in for several months if this sort of quiet lifestyle suits you.

The resort offers oil and thai massage and extremely reasonable prices there's no need to go elsewhere. Day trips to sightseeing and downtown are offered so just check with the front desk for available activities and programmes. Wonderful experience all round.

I do have to say that I could not have asked for my stay to have been any better. The Spa setting is beautiful and away from Chaing Mia up on the side of a mountain. You are truly right in nature. The staff are absolutely fabulous and will help you in any way possible. The internet issue mention by someone before was sorted while I was there. So it is not an issue anymore. The food is wonderful and ingredients from the spa's own organic farm. Laundry is very prompt. The spa area has a varieyt of massages as well as a fir sauna and a lovely herbal sauna which leaves your skin feeling so soft. You can take Raw Food preparation lessons. This was my first 7 day fast / detoc of this sort and I could not have found a better facility to have been in. I highly recommend The Spa Chaing Mai.
