“Rude service”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Caravan was along the route to Jerusalem and it seemed like a good time to stop for a quick meal. The waiter must have been having a bad day. We also were served a jug of lemonade which I had not ordered. Luckily we didn't touch it and weren't charged for it (similar to the practice of serving bread and olives in Portugal). The salad was average and the kebabs were not as good as the ones we were eating the Old City the previos few days.

“good food good service”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

I came to this restaurant with my father 50 years ago, it was on the main road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

They had a big fire 2 years ago and now it is nicer.

They serve alcohol and I like their cooked lamb shoulder

“too bad about the flies”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

we had a good meal there but there were so many flies as we were sitting outside on the patio, As we arrived the waiter brought us two jugs of lemonade without us ordering them and we were charged 25 sheqel for each of them at the end of the meal.
The meal was very expensive and it shouldn't have been seeing it was in a supposed to be cheaper area. There were no free refills of the salads. In all a big disappointment.

“Great food!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Caravan Inn has authentic local food.

The restaurant is very interesting, with great views over the valley.

There is an extensive menu of Arab Israeli food. The meze of salads is delicious, as are the kebabs.

The service was quick but impersonal. Not as helpful as one would like, but efficient.

The prices are OK.

Great to take a visitor to Israel.

I would recommend this restaurant.

“Great Meal”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

Look some of the complains posted about Caravan seem to be expecting haute cuisine. They are looking at the wrong place. If you want solid and quick kebab, along with more mezze than you can possibly eat (enough so that they're nearly falling off the table, and you're having to lift your arms to avoid getting your sleeves into the food), this is the place. Fast and friendly service, that is polite, but not overbearing. Great coffee, good food, and Arab Israeli cuisine on your way between Tel Aviv & Jerusalem, this is your place.
