“Fresh fish but don't think the chips were home made”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

The Lobster Pot in Burtonport is a great place for lunch or dinner especially for fish. Tasted fresh but don't think the chips were home made even though they were described as Home Chips

“Terrific food and service”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

Hmmmmmm what can I say - the food was to die for - for a start -I couldn't choose which of the delectable meals to choose from - all of the dishes on the menu were desirable!!!- and when i did choose - I was not disappointed. The food was great, fresh and more than enough. Do yourself a favour and have a meal here at least once in your lifetime. Bernadette, the server is so friendly and more than helpful.

“A Rip Off”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

We called for lunch, only customers, and ordered crab claws. 5 crab claws, microwaved with butter, no sauce, not fresh probably baught in frozen, and charged almost 2 euro's each. Thats x4 times the retail price for crab claws.
Never again! I had a 2 course "plat du jour" lunch in Cannes France recently for almost the same price.

I am sorry for your poor experience at our pub. We source as many of our products locally as possible. The crab claws are no exception. We agree that they are high priced, in fact they are the most expensive product on our menu to source. They are on the menu because the demand for them is that high, we can't take them off. I wish I was getting 4 times the price. As for comparing prices to France not even fair

“A bit disappointed”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

We visited The Lobster Pot in 2008, 2010 and 2012 during our annual holidays in Ireland. The first 2 times, it was such a great place where we had the best food. This year was not as good as before. Don't get me wrong: It was still honest and good quality food but the quality was not the same as good as I thought. I might test again in 2 years to see if it was an accident or if the quality has really gone down.

“The lobster pot great food great value”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

After a trip to Aranmore island our party of three adults and two small children were hungry! The two fish lovers had seafood chowder and open prawn sandwich. I, the vega, was delighted to find a delicious vegetable curry. The menu had a wide range of dishes and prices. The young staff were very friendly and accommodating to children. 5 mains two glasses of wine and 6 cokes was 65 euro. For the quality, amount and taste of the food this was reasonable. I would highly recommend the lobster pot if you are anywhere near burtonsport or dungloe
