Description: Welcome to our delightful pub in the heart of the pretty village of Warlingham. The Horseshoe boasts several distinct areas in which to enjoy our great food and drinks. There’s the sumptuous front bar with its newspapers, comfy chairs and sofas, leading through to the traditional old restaurant section with its cosy tables, little nooks and crannies. Finally, there’s the wonderful conservatory which is an absolute gem! Light, airy and spacious – you will love dining here with friends and family. There are plenty of places to sit outside on the front patio too where you can enjoy a drink or some food and watch the world go by.

My husband and I visited the Horseshoe to have dinner with friends. We were greeted immediately at the door by a welcoming smile and asked where in the pub/restaurant we'd like to sit, which was a very pleasant start.

We chose to sit in the huge conservatory which is warm, yet airy and very comfortable. The menu offered a varied selection of all courses but it wasn't too overwhelming. The food tasted as good as we had hoped and you could really taste the fresh, good quality ingredients used, which I always appreciate.

The staff were unlike any I have experienced in a long time. All were quite young but the confidence, helpfulness and all round happy service that we received that evening was outstanding. They couldn't help us enough. Nothing was too much for any of them. It was so refreshing.

We really enjoyed our evening and will be returning. I can't wait to see what's on offer next time.

Thank you so much :-)

Unbelievably poor service. For starters we came out for a family meal to celebrate our wedding last weekend.
It was sunday evening and the restaurant was empty. When we asked for a table, we were made to feel uncomfortable by the waitress who wasn't sure they had a table - whilst we were staring at an empty room with just one couple in the corner.
My mum had to ask the waitress 3 times for a straw with her drink, as she has very sensitive teeth, and was being ignored.
The food arrived, and my uncles scampi was over cooked and hard. It really should not have been served. My grandmas mash was clearly not fresh as it had a bad smell, and my fish pie was tasteless. The worst thing of all, was that my dad ordered monkfish skillets. Now having worked in the catering industry I know that Monkfish has a cartilage type bone structure with no fiddlely pin bones. After doing my research I found that if the 'monkfish' has pin bones then it cannot be monkfish, but another species of fish called a star glazer which is imported from new Zealand or china and arrives frozen. The manager came over with an attitude and insisted it was 100% monkfish after my dad found several sharp pin bones in his meal and it tasted more like cod or hake.
The chips were overdone and hard.
My husband got lucky with some nice spare ribs, but that was about it.
We have been going to this place for years and generally the food has been acceptable. But after this experience we will not be going back again.
Verdict - should have got a take away!

We went here for lunch today after hearing lots of good thongs about the carvery. It was excellent!!! Choice of three meats had all three they were perfectly cooked the parsnips were amazing so crunchy!! And all the trimmings were amazing with plenty to choose from. The staff were more than helpful and the eating room is a big suprise. £30 for two of us including drinks, great price. Will be taking all the family next time. Best carvery around!!
