Decided to book a table for 4 on Sat night as was recommended this restaurant by a friend. Did not disappoint, were shown to our table by friendly waiter, there was a good selection of tapas and our waiter helped us decide what to go for . Food was superb and a great atmosphere. We did not feel rushed at all, in fact we were there for most of the evening and would deff return soon. Highly recommended.

We've dined in La Botija three times. The first visit was great - loved the food, the service was friendly and the general ambience was pleasent. The menu has plenty to choose from and the wine list was more than sufficient for us to select a suitable Spanish red wine.

Because our first experience was such a success, we couldn't wait to dine there again and booked a table a couple of weeks later for 4 at 7:30 on a Saturday. On arrival we were ushered to our table and the waitress took our drinks' order while we we browsed the menu. Everything went very well and the night was perfect until the manager brought us the bill and informed us that there were other people waiting for a table and that we should hurry and finish our drinks. We didn't want to spoil our evening so didn't complain too much but finished our drinks and left.

A couple of months later we decided to give La Botija a go despite the previous slightly disappointing visit. We booked a table for 2 at 8 o'clock on a Saturday. We arrived at 7:45 and as expected our table wasn't ready yet so we waited at the bar. The drinks were very expensive but that didn't worry us as much as the fact that we were made to wait for a very long time for our table. Finally at 9:15, we got our table. The service was slow and many of the items on the menu were not available so were forced to compromise and order what they had.

The food in La Botija is very tasty and they have done up the old pub very nicely indeed but they really need to get their act together quickly to keep their customers. They've certainly lost me. It's unacceptable to make a customer wait for over an hour for a table and the way that the manager brought us the bill we didn't even ask for and told us to hurry up and leave is unbelievably rude.

Tapas is very much one of my favourite types of food so I've eaten a lot of it and most of it in Spain, so I feel I need to state this at the start. The food is excellent however the price overshadows the great food. Portions are somewhat too small also. Wonderful restaurant interior and the staff are friendly. We went mid-week so no other guests but we were catching up (group of 4 friends), and the staff were given some duties other than looking after us which meant service was slow. To be honest I probably wouldn't go back as there's better and more lively tapas bars / restaurants in the area, but it's nice if you need to be Warlingham.

This used to be the Olde Leather Bottle pub which was not particularly good, but has since been taken over, refurbished and turned into a really nice little tapas bar. It is run by spanish people now who greeted us with a cheerful "hola!". The portions are a little large for traditional tapas, they are more british sized plates so don't order more than two dishes per head unless you are really hungry! They serve their house wine by the glass which is pretty good. It was fairly busy when we went there early in the evening, we did get a table but after about 8pm it was full so suggest booking in advance.
