Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: The falls, in the northern half of Yoho park, drop 833 ft -- making it one of the highest waterfalls in Canada. The falls are spectacular in early summer, when melting snow and ice provide ample runoff.

These falls are spectucular and a highlight of our trip to the Canadian Rockies in 2009. Unfortunately, when we visited this year (in mid June) the road to the falls had not been cleared of snow and was, therefore, not open - a major disappointment.

I stayed at the nearby HI hostel and walked out here early the next morning. What a rush! The thundering sound, the soaking spray and the sight of rushing water blew my mind! I was terrified and thrilled at the same time! The road up to the falls is quite an adventure, and the falls is only a short walk from the parking area - you can't miss (and shouldn't) it!

These falls are well worth a visit, there is so much run off from the glaciers it never fails to deliver.

The fall is beautiful and you can get close, very close.
You are driving on a very scenic road to get there - take your time and enjoy it.

Based on the recommendation of our hiking guide Nadine (http://www.greatdivide.ca/), we visited Takakkaw Falls and Field, BC. What a treat it was to our eyes. Takakkaw Falls is an awesome location for photographers. Stunning views to be photographed and framed.
