Owner description: Peaceful lake nestled in the mountains and surrounded by lush, green forest.

We visited on a mid-week afternoon in June and it was very busy with several buses and very few spaces within the car park but when we reached the lake it was worth it as the scenery is beautiful. There are plenty of places to take photographs of this very picturesque lake. There is a cafe and shop at the lake - the shop sells some quirky items.
At the time that we were there a bear was walking through the meadow on the opposite shore - this created a lot of excitement from many of the tourists present.

I really enjoyed the walk around the lake. The trail was very quiet and it was nice to stop and watch people float by in canoes. The lake trail has several informational signs about the flora, fauna and landscapes. I stopped for a moment to look out over the lake and unknowingly startled a family of geese who then flew out of the trees right beside me for an afternoon swim. It was nice to watch them float way after we all got over the shock!

We have been to Emerald Lake a number of times over the year. We decided to stop in and show our little girl the lake for the first time.

The drive up to the lake was good but man was it busy, on a Thursday afternoon! There were three busses in the parking lot and parking a car was difficult. We were lucky and a car backed out as we arrived. Otherwise we'd have had to have parked about 1KM away on the side of the road and walked in.

Even though we didn't do the hike around the lake we did enjoy the views. The best part was asking our 4 year old what colour the lake was and she said it "was blue and green and pretty!".

To bad about the agressive tourists off the bus tours. They just want to take all of the room. Rude. :(
You have to have a national park pass to visit this location.

We wnt there on a beautiful day, and the lake-view was breath-taking. We walked around the lake and was amazed by its beauty. We found wild yellow orchideas and foot-prints from bears on the trail. We were impressed.
To us, this is the most wunderful lakes of them all in the Rockies.

Very pretty lake, made for some great pictures. We didn't have much time so just stopped for photos and cannot speak to what is around the lake. But if you have the time it is another picturesque spot.
