“Little bit of heaven”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

We visited Baratti beach during the summer 2012, we stayed locally ( Park Albatros ) decided to try as another holidaymaker had recommended.
The beach has a " rustic" unkept feel but is absolutely beautiful in every way, gently shelving, nice warm water, little beach huts serving food/drinks. You can rent most water sport items from the huts also.
The car parking is a short stoll from the beach and is only 1euro or so per hour, well worth it trust me !!
We visited Baratti a few times over our second week and wish we had gone sooner, our kids had a ball floating in the sea with their goggles on looking at the fish and other sealife.

Overall.... Baratti is a " little bit of heaven " in Tuscany !!

“Amazing! I'll come back”
Reviewed September 16, 2011

I was suggested by a friend to visit this beach to break the journey from Pisa to Rome, and I'm happy to have followed his advice.

The beach is inside a natural/archeological park, there are paying parking spaces and guards enforcing the limits. The beach is large, a little dark, like it's common in Tuscany, the sea warm (in July) and the water clear. A little bar rents also beachchairs and beach umbrellas.

The beach is surmounted by a small village (Populonia) with a castle and an archaeological area with Etruscan tombs.
