“Paracon and maitland goal a match made perfect”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

I attended paracon Australia conference at maitland goal and it was the perfect location. All buildings were close if not original. The history shared was fascinating and the team at the goal was great and very helpful with all enquiries. They were also very interested in what all attendees had to share with them as well. I would love to go back again!

“Wow! So cool!”
Reviewed April 20, 2014 via mobile

We really enjoyed the tour with Ray the tour guide. He certainly knows his stuff. There were some kids on the tour around the ages of 8-11. They also listened to the stories in awe. Beware some of the stories although incredibly chilling were candid and in this case toned down for the youngsters. The history of this place is incredible and it highlights just how pampered prisoners are today, shamefully. No such luxuries in Maitland Gaol. Highly recommend this tour and take a look at the night tour too it looks frighteningly fantastic if you dare. Ray even said how recently an 18yo celebrated his party there at full capacity, loud with bands and a DJ. Good thing was once all were in, no-one cpuld leave and absolutely no Gate crashers could get in either! Cant buy that kind of security these days.....or can you. Consider this tour - its really great.

“A great way to spend a couple of hours”

A bit off the beaten track but worth a look. A must for any parent to show there kids where you don't want to end up. Only down point is that you are not able to go into a guard tower for a look.
