“Easy to find. Outstanding service”
Reviewed March 29, 2013 via mobile

Was booked through booking.com. Room was compact but very well equipped. The bed was very comfortable with a choice of feather or non feather pillows. The shower was surprisingly powerful for an old building. Breakfast catered for everyone's needs and was of a very high standard. I requested room service for an evening meal - the food was delightful and certainly not over priced. I would not hesitate to recommend The Manor but I would advise ringing before arrival as parking on site is very tight. They do have additional parking 2mins on foot away, you may need directions

The web site boasted the hotel had recently be refurbished, that was not the case. Our Classic Double room did not look like the rooms advertised on the photo galley. the room as small, dirty and tired. Things like the Velux window blind did not close properly, so the room suffered from light pollution. The toilet flush mechanism was broken etc. we voiced our feelings when we checking out, but they were not addressed. I could not recommend this hotel and have stayed at a lot better establishments for the same money.

We didnt expect much, but were pleasantly surprised! Great Value deal including the lego land tickets- we booked a family "flat" which is actually over the road in an ordinary block of flats. It was fine, although it sides on to the railway track, so was noisy, but we knew this before we booked!

What absolutely made the place great was the very friendly & helpful staff - especially the Manager. The Breakfasts were good - the evening meals were very nice and affordable.

Having read some of the reviews I was a little worried having picked up a Groupon Voucher for this hotel as a Valentine treat for myself and my boyfriend. We arrived early, and although there was no space in the hotel car park we found a public pay and display just down the road resonably priced at £5 for the day.

As I had planned we hopped on the open top bus tour which stops just across the road from the hotel and headed in to WIndsor. It was bracing to say the least, but really good fun and very informative. We wandered round the sights and shops, heading back to the hotel to check in at about 430pm.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and we were advised that we could use the free parking at Kola House. The deal came with a three course meal, which we had to booked in for at 7pm. A little earlier than planned but the hotel had several functions on.

The room was small, clean and really quite nice. It warmed up nicely and had coffee facilities, tv, and a nice bathroom.

The resturant and bar area are modern and very nice. The meal was from a set menu and the spelling mistakes such as "Beast of chicken" made us smile. The food when it came was delicious - HamHack (Hog!!?) followed by Beast of chicken for him, and Buttnernut Squash Soup and Rissotto for me. We both had the lemon and vodka cheese cake. We weren't rushed at all, and moved in to the bar area after we had finshed eating. We did pop across to The Stag Pub for a change of scenery and this was a lively, inviting pub.

We headed to bed early. The bed was warm, comfy and clean. We were not distrubed by the functions that were on and slept fairly well. We headed for breakfast which is served from 8am to 11am. There was a nice choice of food, and the Full English was lovely. We checked out at 11am and the staff were more than happy for us to leave the car at Kola House whilst we took a walk to the river.

I have to say after having reservations we both really enjoyed our stay, the staff were lovely, the accomodation great, and the food brilliant. Yes we would stay again, and whilst there isn't much else to see in Windsor other than the castle and the shops, it would be a great base for anyone want to travel to London and see the surrounding areas,

Hello BicesterBird, thank you for your comments regarding your visit to the Manor Hotel. I am glad you had an enjoyable stay & whilst our Chef's spelling is not his strong point, his food more than makes up for it as you mentioned! We hope to welcome you back to the Manor Hotel in the future. Kind regards, Megan, Guest Relations

A great little hotel, restaurant. We stayed in an executive room (202) and the bed was about the best hotel bed I've ever slept in. The room was nicely done out; traditional in line with the building with some modern twists. The air conditioner was a little bright to have on at night though.
The food was excellent, the bar had a great range and the staff were great and very helpful with whatever we wanted.
It was only a 20 minute walk to Windsor which is packed with nice restaurants (we tried La Taverna and Spice Route. Both excellent food) although £17.75 each to go in the Castle resulted in us not going in so we went to The Carpenters Arms pub instead which turned out to be a great pub with really good nachos.
Would have loved to have stayed longer.

For a boutique style hotel so close to Windsor and competing with London prices this is a nice little place. I thought the service was great and all the staff were generally very friendly and helpful. I had my 40th birthday party here and so had about 18 of my friends staying and not one of them had anything bad to say. A/C and heating problems were sorted out quickly and nothing seemed too much trouble. Its not the best place in the world if you're expecting large luxurious facilities but it is a nice little place for families and friends with all the basic amenities. I stayed in one of the exec rooms which was full of character but right at the back end at the top of the hotel and quite small with low beams. If you go for an exec room ask to be booked into Room 202 as this is the nicest room in the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 202 for an exec room.

Okay so the rooms are modestly sized and the parking is a bit tight but the service is great, the food just fine and it has a nice homely vibe. I was running a conference there and managed to get a nasty sore throat; the staff not only sympathised but made me lovely hot lemon and honey drinks...now that's just great. I also managed to respond badly to their lovely down pillows and duvet and they were whisked away and replaced with non-sneezy ones.

On the practical side the shower was good, the bed comfy, the place clean and its 15 seconds from the railway station (but I could not hear it through the double glazing) but it is the staff that makes this place worth going to.
