“Two day break .....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2010

we had booked in for our last hols of this year and came along the tennant's arms through the internet , we wanted a quiet and comfortable break . all in all it was very good , the only negative was that the heating in our room did not work despite the owners having the plumbers out the previous week to repair the system . heaters were quickly placed in the room but the inconvience was having to jump out of bed in the morning to get the room warm . the food was exceptional and staff very friendly .

A traditional hotel set in stunning scenery, ideal for those seeking a quiet break. Food is good with a varied choice and daily specials, however, the experience was marred by poor 'front-of-house' who appeared disinterested in customer needs and would benefit from training. On one evening we waited 60 minutes before our food was served without explanation, and when it finally arrived the vegetables were raw, and mumbled apology was the only response.

We recently stayed for 3 nights in the Four Poster "Wharfdale" Room.

We had two nights of no heating in the room as apparently the establishment is experiencing heating problems. We were however given electric heaters. The main problem was the droning of a pump all day and night which apparently was above the room. After two nights of disturbed sleep, we confronted one of the proprietors, Mark, who advised us this had been going on since February and he sleep was disturbed and he just had to learn to live with it. He then went on to tell us about all the problems he had encountered with builders and plumbers for months on end. This isn't what you want to hear when you want to get away from it all for a break. We were finally moved to another room for our final night.

The Tennant Arms has supposedly been re-furbished, however, the hall, staircase and landing areas are really shabby. The breakfast room is really 80's and all the guests seemed to be squashed into one end having to squeeze past each other.

Although we were told the room had been discounted at no time were we ever told about the problems with the heating or noise in the room before our arrival. We did however manage to negotiate a small discount from the overall cost. Even payment was a problem because the card reader had been broken for days!

I feel that one of the proprietors would greatly benefit from a customer service course.

I would like to say that the location of the hotel is fabulous.

Lovely Inn/ hotel, friendly staff ideally situated for walking In the dales. Very pleasant rooms with wonderfall views, great full english breakfast, locally sourced, and a extensive evening menu if required. We stayed for three nights and really didn't want to leave, would recommend .

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it. I booked it thinking it was a hotel in Skipton not knowing it was about 15 miles away. My mistake payed off though because its located right in the middle of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, we have traveled all over the world and I think the Dales are right up there with the best places. Although the Hotel was just finishing having its roof repaired bit of a no no for one staying there! We still enjoyed our stay. Good food well prepared, staff lovely, excellent room and all for a very reasonal price. What more can one ask for.

Spent a night at The Tennant Arms with my husband. The service was very good, the staff were helpful and well organised. The food was excellent, and good value for money, cosy log fire, good ale and wine, a comfy bed for the night ,what more can one ask for.

Just back from a lovely stay at this B and B. Room, breakfast and dinner were fantastic. We had expected to be put in a slightly lower standard room as we came with our dog but the room was absolutely gorgeous. There is alot of work going on at the hotel at present which may make the hotel look less presentable from the outside, but this did not affect out stay at all. The price we paid was extremely reasonable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends/family.
