We called in for evening meal with our niece and her husband whilst staying in the area. The bar staff were very friendly and chatty and helped us chose our meal options and we were delighted with our meals. We ate early, a good idea as the bar filled up very quickly, a seemingly popular place. If we're in the area again we'll definitely be back! Myra and Peter.

Stayed for a couple of nights midweek in July, with visitors from USA. Rooms were spacious & clean. Breakfast was terrific, and a lunch & a dinner in the pub were excellent. The beer was fine, and the wine list more tan adequate. There are footpaths adjacent to the B&B to give easy access to the Dales. We had a good time & would certainly consider returning. One slightly bizarre thing was that we asked for info on what types of fish were included in the seafood platter shown on the menu. The waiter explained that the Chef had not told him. So we asked him to find out - he returned from the kitchen saying that the Chef was still refusing to say !! It was no big deal - we just ordered something else.

Room Tip: They seem to have a range of room types/sizes, so try to find out in advance what you are getting.

My husband and I spent one night at this hotel for our wedding anniversary - without the children!. From arriving to leaving all the staff were very friendly and the staff/locals in the bar during the evening were chatty and welcoming.
We stayed in Wharfedale which is an amazing room with a with 4 poster bed and a bathroom with stand alone bath(which is huge) pus an enormous rain shower and his n hers basins. We loved the room which was full of character and had lovely views from the bedroom and bathroom windows.
We ate in the pub and both really enjoyed our meals. Breakfast was fantastic and kept us going all day.
I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family and I hope we can return again very soon.

Stayed for one night on 25/7/13 in the Bishopdale room. The floors are a bit creaky as to be expected in a building of this type but this room is spared the creaks of people going past as it is at the end of the first floor. Very comfortable room with an enormous free standing bath and rain shower. It was very warm though when we visited and perhaps a fan could be placed in the room for times like these. The downstairs reception area doesn't reflect the standard of the room we were in. We only met a couple of members of staff, both were friendly. We had dinner which was great value. The portion sizes were huge and at a reasonable cost. Breakfast was also enjoyable and set us up for the day. No lunch needed! Side garden to sit in and admire the view. We will return to The Tennant Arms when we next visit the area.

Room Tip: Bishopdale was a great room as no noise from footfall going past door and the bathroom is fabulous.

Had an overnight stay here, wish I could have stayed longer would have loved to. Great location, fabulous breakfast with excellent service, very reasonable charges for bed and breakfast. Lovely beer garden and they accept dogs. I will be back here again and soon I hope.

We stayed here on 17/18 June as I won 2 nights and all meals in a competition. We took our 2 king charles cavaliers with us and were really looking forward to the break. When we arrived we were met by a man (I believe he was the owner) who took us to our room at the back of the hotel. We did not expect too much from the room as we appreciated we had the dogs with us but it was spacious and clean. The taps in the bathroom however were loose and there were marks on the walls in the small hallway. We also as per previous comments were left with no idea as to where meals where served or even what times and the promised bottle of wine and flowers never materialised either. The breakfasts were brilliant, lots of choice and cooked to order and the meals on the first evening were also good. However on the second evening we found one member of the staff rude and unhelpful and my fishcake came still frozen in the middle. When we checked out they also tried to charge us for meals which should have been included. It was a shame as it was the small things that let them down but they werent interested in any comments we made. Perhaps as I had won the stay they decided we werent worth a sorry but we now would not recommend this to any friends or colleagues. Also in the three days we were there the bin in the beer garden was not emptied so overflowed with rubbish and dog pooh bags.

We recently had a great three nights at the Tennant Arms together with our Labrador Bentley who had a wonderful time. Bordondale our room was very spacious at the back of the hotel so very quiet as well. Loads of room for Bentley. A slight problem was the mattress which had seen better days and was very lumpy. On mentioning this immediately a solution was sought and found. Full marks for that. The surroundings are fantastic especially with the weather we had. Super big breakfasts together with home made strawberry jam for afters. 4 real ales went well with the welcome that us and Bentley got in the bar. Good value for money

Room Tip: Go for a back room but it doesn't matter very much as the road outside is very quiet after eight...
