Despite the grey skies and a little rain we spent an enjoyable few hours visiting the site. Lots of authentic buildings, well set up with period gardens on some. Volunteers around the site were helpful and interacted with us on many occasions. We enjoyed feeding the ducks 50p for a big bag of duck food and the biscuits from the mill were tasty!!

The Weald & Downland collection of relocated buildings gives you an amazing insight into our history. If the weather is good it is quite enjoyable walking from building to building. Learnt quite a bit about the past not a subject I ever did at school. Good reasonably priced cafe as well. Take your time read the signs and reflect on how different our lives are from some of the featured people from the past. my one complaint would be that it is not particularly obvious which way around to go, a few simple directional signs would be very beneficial.

You really get a genuine impression on life at former times. Farm houses perfectly restored and personnel very attentive and friendly.

Pick a sunny day (easier said than done i know) and this is a great day out for adults and kids. Lots of buildings to visit which is not as boring as it may sound, it really is good fun exploring the old houses and stuff.

This is an inspiring collection on buildings from by gone days that have been wonderfully preserved in an authentic setting. We keep going back. The combination of animals, crafts and buildings and decor of the period is good for all ages. There is lots going on throughout the year and the special events are definitely worth a visit.
