“cupcakes”
Reviewed April 23, 2013 via mobile

i love the yema and ube cupcake. i've noticed that the batter used in chocnut cupcake and smores are the same with their best seller yema. if it's different i could have appreciated the other two.

the place is so relaxing. their aircon blasts coldness in this hot temp. love the apothecary jars that display all of the cookies.

i can't rate the other foods since i went there for cupcake takeouts only.

btw, please put a smile on your cashier's face. it will help bring the sunshine in.

“Can't keep up with the hype”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

A stroll along the Bonifacio high street after lunch was very pleasant. Through the prodding of my niece who heard rave reviews about Slice, we headed there for dessert and coffee. True enough, the place was packed especially inside where it was air-conditioned, so we waited. We still wanted to have a taste because we were already caught up with the hype . The cappuccino was served a serving of toasted cereals (huh?), they could have better served a sampler of their baked goodies as an 'enticer'. The cakes were just ok but unfortunately it didn't fill up our expectations. The servers could also be friendlier. Maybe the the main dishes were better but taking the name of the place as 'Slice', you would think the piece de resistance were the desserts. We were left wanting more.

“SLICE: a restaurant that does not only serves delicious pastries but ...”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

SLICE RESTO - is located at the south end of one of the trendiest place in Metro Manila - The Bonifacio High Street. We were looking for a place to eat where food is not so 'heavy' along this strip, we walked from the northern end of the strip up the southern end. There we found Slice. It is adjacent to Mango store and near Cottonon.

The food in the menu book is simply worded, such as, Pannini with Side Salad, Chicken Curry, Spicy Tapa, etc. but when they were served to us, the presentation is superb! Pannini with Side Salad is Quattro Formaggio with a separate bowl of deliciously sauced vegetable salad. The cheese inside the pannini tasted like the French cheese with tangy taste. Chicken Curry is not a plain chicken curry - in a big bowl, the base is the soft creamy brown rice, unlike the usual dry brown rice, with curry sauce around it and topped by a soft and tasty chicken strips. Together with this dish, are three smaller bowl with broccoli, with peanuts, and the third bowl has this dark brown curry beans(?) that you can mix into the main bowl in a quantity that you desire. Spicy tapa - the brown rice is soft and delicious and in a separate bowl is a spicy beef tapa which our son loves to eat. There is no need for any sauce or condiments to spice up the taste. As is, all the food that we ordered are yummy, delectable and appetizing! And the price is reasonable ... The three dishes is less than a thousand pesos!

“Tiramisu was Decent”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

Stopped by recently after doing a little bit of shopping at The Fort and decided to try some of the cakes since they looked so delicious. The decor is pretty nice at this place, presenting a more upscale environment.

After taking a glance at the menu, I opted for the Tiramisu cake, ordering a slice. It was pretty decent, although a bit too rich for my taste. My girl ordered a shake and said it was just ok. Shake actually comes in a healthy portion being in a huge glass.

I need to stop by again and try some more of what they have to offer and give it another chance. The display that they have is so overwhelming with tons of goodies and sweets on display.

“Go for the Meals”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

The tomato soup was great and I would order it again. Good for 1 though.

Ordered Philly Cheesesteak and it came out with a salad on the side. They were able to give us extra dressing. The sandwich came with a wheat hamburger bun, which overpowered the taste of the onions and beef - but it feels kinda healthy and half a cheesesteak filled me up already. They were very generous with the angus beef so it was a good meal.

For dessert, we tried the Very Berry Cupcake. The texture was more like dry cake not a moist cupcake. The icing on top was also grainy. A bit disappointing.

I would go back to order more of the meals than the desserts. Orders from the next tables came out big, esp. the pasta.

The staff were not attentive enough and you have to call them more than once. Not sure if this was because the place was full but I think there were more than enough servers.
