Looking for a decent meal amongst a myriad of fast food outlets we stumbled across this bistro where we indulged in steak salad and chips washed down with beers, cocktails and cognac. Service was attentive, the inside seating cosy and the food was well prepared. Superb value by western standards, would definitely eat here again...

The onion soup was excellent, the house salads made with mixed greens perfect as light starters--how nice to have a perfectly balanced vinaigrette--and the seafood couscous, red snapper on lentils, and the 'moules frites' delicious. This is a serious place, where the cooks know their business, the dishes are perfectly cooked and well-proportioned. The chef, from Zurich, came to say hello when he heard we were from Geneva. He patterned this restaurant after the well-known 'Café de Paris' on the rue du Mt-Blanc in Geneva. He talks with refreshing enthusiastic about l'Entrecôte, his cooking, and the life he chose in the Philippines. When he heard I was having trouble with a pie dough recipe, he gave me his to try. The service here, like the food, is impeccable, a situation not encountered that often in Manila, where service is often enthusiastic, but unskilled.
