What a lovely cottage, which was also pristine. The welcome pack was lovely and our dogs enjoyed the treats, Thank you. The facilities are all brilliant and the garden was great, Gillian was so helpful, what a lovely lady. We can't wait to return in the New Year and hopefully get some nice warm weather to sit out in the garden.
Felt like home the moment we stepped through the door. Had everything we needed including a little patio table and chairs to enjoy the little garden. Lots of games and DVDs and the welcome pack was well appreciated. The house is ideally situated in the middle of the village which has two pubs and coop for supplies. Some good walks close by. The Black Bull pub is fantastic and well worth a visit for a drink AND a meal. The food is gorgeous and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Would definitely go back to this property.
Gillian was a great host - making sure everything was satisfactory and leaving thoughtful gifts on arrival.
The house was clean, well kept and decorated nicely throughout. Lots of nice little touches. I would definitely recommend this house to stop in.
Many thanks for having us, it's a lovely part of the country for walking with some of the friendliest people around! :)
We liked this very nice and clean house in this stunning landscape a lot. The owner was very nice and helpful.
This cottage is a delight, and perfectly situated for visiting the North Pennines, Weardale, and Teesdale. The owners have thought of everything and made it a really lovely little home-from-home. We couldn't fault it. There is good wi-fi and even the TV is excellent! There are lovely river side walks from the village, and the local Co-op for food basics is just across the road. We went for the birdwatching, and if you are interested in that, then you just need to drive down past the brilliant pub called The Black Bull, over the river bridge and up onto the moors - absolutely superb. Another fantastic place for would-be birdwatchers or nature-lovers is the Durham Wildlife Trust nature reserve at Low Barns, just 20 minutes away. The river Wear runs through this and makes for an idyllic setting. So, if you are looking at this cottage, and it seems to fit your needs, then go for it, you won't regret it.
Booked Cranford Cottage for the Easter Weekend. A very reasonable price considering it was Easter. The cottage did not disappoint. It was lovely, spacious for 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child) and 2 small dogs. The cottage was lovely and clean, beds were comfy and it had all the things you would expect from a cared for cottage. Gillian was very helpful throughout the booking process and even left us treats for the dogs and a bottle of wine and biscuits - great touch. The village itself has everything you need, the chippy is great as is the local pub. There are plenty of local walks - indeed lots of leaflets in the cottage detailing them. All in all a great stay and would very much consider returning in the future and would also recommend. Thank you!
We had a very comfortable stay. The cottage was clean and thoughtfully prepared and thank you Gillian for the personal touches. We would recommend.
