“Lovely home in beautiful area, no need for more”
Reviewed August 19, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

The cottage, although it is a private property, is located in a holiday park that hosts a group of approximately 20 cottages. But all the people there from staff treated us as if we were full residents from the manor and made no difference. You get access to an inside swimming pool, tennis court, a mini shop and lots of other facilities if you like, stay for your own or make new friends at the Old Forge Bar where homemade food is served and which we earnestly recommend. Site provides Launderette service, too (6 GBP per load, detergents included). When you leave the park you get stunned by a prominent view of the sea. Two superstores and one petrol can be accessed at the foot of the hill that leads up to Gulval and the Cottage. We strongly recommend to not walk to Penzance by feet because of the narrow road and fast driving cars, which appears to be typical for the county. We always drove by car to some public parking place (even the smallest town provides one, mostly without charges if you arrive after 4 PM - but don't ever try to drive to St Ives - take the train instead, there are lots of P&R stations along the road).

The cottage itself was squeaky clean when we arrived, with lovable arrangements and artwork and we almost immediately felt like home. We lived there with 2 adults and 1 child for a week but it provides sleeping space for two more guests in a 2-story bed and with 2 sofas and a 4-chair-table provided, the lounge won't get crowded when you come in with more than 3 guests. The kitchen, as usual, is efficiently small but nothing is missed. For coffee lovers a French press can be found. Everything is in perfect state, beds and mattresses like new. No13 is very sunny, especially from the back door where a small terrace can be enjoyed. The site allows one car to be parked directly at the cottage but offers an overflow car park if someone joins with more than one vehicle.

Whenever we go for vacation in Cornwall, we are going to rebook here.

We had a fantastic stay here in the Cornwall Cottage. A very comfortable place for a famiky of 4, and great facilities on site. We loved how close it is to all the popular attractions. Thank you for making our holiday a great one.

Had an excellent time. The accommodation was very good, compact but very nice. The local facilities were good. We did not use the pool, but played tennis everyday. The only downside was the walk into Penzance as there is no pedestrian route and the road into Gulval village was narrow and the cars were rather quick around the bends. However, this cannot be helped. Good parking in Penzance, so walking is good from there. We definitely recommend this accommodation.

“No.13 Excellent cottage”
Reviewed August 22, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Good location. Owner very friendly and helpful.

The cottage had many home comforts (nice little touches e.g box of wet play activities for children) and kitchen was well stocked with equipment to make self catering easy.

Wifi sketchy (but it is Cornwall and wifi in main site building was also having problems).

Would definitely recommend to couples and families with small children.

Hi Linda, Many thanks for your lovely review, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay here, we try to make things nice and cosy and keep up with the comforts that you may have at home, I hope you will come back to Cornish Cottage, as we do and have done for many years even though our children are all now grown up - they still insist on coming to Cornwall though every year with us as it is Home from Home! Thanks again Jenny.
