“Wonderful in any way!”
Reviewed August 16, 2010

We have choosen Cove Cottage for our honeymoon as we had seen the fotos of this superb place in the internet and had not been disappointed after our arrival.
Sue and John gave us a warm welcome and for the 12 wonderful days of our stay we had been looked after in any way. You can choose from a variety od delicious even cornish breakfasts which Sue prepares with solicitude.
There ist a bookshelf with lots of maps an books from Cornwall and the surrounding and ur hosts always had helpful suggestions where to go and how to get best to local sigths, as we hadn`t discovered so many wonderful places without their tips.
The four postered bedromm with the magnificent view to garden and sea is funished with love and care as all the house is. We also enjoyed the large victorian bathromm with bath tub and a luxurious shower.
The wonderful warm and athentic hospitality of Sue and John made us feel relaxed and comfortable and lucky we had found this idyllic place.
We think that cove Cottage with Sue and John deserve at least 6 stars!!!!

Quite the most special place that we have ever stayed in: it is rather more expensive than we usually go for but worth every penny and more, even without the bonus of having the sea lapping at the end of the garden!
The combination of the beauty of the garden and its setting, the charm, comfort and character of the house, the outstanding food and the genuine warmth and kindness of Sue and John made us feel wonderfully pampered in a way that one can't put a price on. We are full of admiration for the skill and dedication they bring to creating this wonderful haven, and the generosity of spirit in which they share it. Our only hesitation in recommending it is that we selfishly want to keep it to ourselves. No wonder that their guests keep returning again and again- we certainly hope to, and got out our diaries whilst we were still there.

We were only able to stay one night at Cove Cottage, as they were booked before and after us, but it was a delightful one night. On arrival Sue sat us down in the garden for a cream tea overlooking the ocean, and some basking sharks appeared close offshore, and stayed for hours. The room was a delight, with windows on three sides and a most comfortable bed and luxurious bath and shower across the hall. The guest suite includes the whole upper floor of this beautifully restored barn. We walked from the cottage along the coastal path to a village pub for dinner, overwhelmed by the beauty of the cliffs, the water, and the wildflowers. Breakfast was a delight, and the morning garden full of subtropical plants in full bloom. The Whites have found a bit of paradise in St. Loy, and I'm very glad they are willing to share it with guests. We'll definitely return, though it's at the top end of our budget.

Really don't know where to begin when describing this wonderful accommodation!

Sue and John have found this idyllic spot where they offer bed and breakfast accommodation which takes up most of the top floor of this converted barn, comprising of a large room with four poster bed and living area with sofa, tv and chaise longue. From this room are wonderful views of the gardens and sea from the many windows.
You won't need to take any reading material as there are many interesting books to choose from. Make sure you look at the red photo album showing how John transformed an old barn into this delightful residence.
The large bathroom not only has a large bath but also a larger than normal separate shower.

Breakfast is taken either in your bedroom or if weather permits outside on the patio area. Sue and John share the cooking which is superb, some of the produce being "home grown."
The location of this accommodation is wonderful if you are looking to have a relaxed, stress free break. An approximate 50 yard walk to the bottom of the garden will take you to St Loy Cove, which is reputed to be the warmest cove in the United Kingdom. If you want to feel as if you have a cove all to yourself then this is for you.

We didn't use our car much throughout our stay, preferring to walk along the coastal footpath to nearby Porthcurno. This footpath can be found at the bottom of the garden so whilst convenient for those staying there, cannot be seen from the house.
The walk to Porthcurno takes in some stunning scenery. If you don't fancy the walk back you can speak to either Sue or John about a pick up. We arranged to call them when we were ready for "home."
Of course you could just stay relaxing in the grounds or at the cove, coming back for Sue's home baked quiches, cakes and cream teas. How we wished we'd had time to do everything!

We only stayed for two nights but could so easily have stayed for much longer. It's not just all of the above which makes this place so special but also the finishing touches combined with the fact that you really feel like part of the family.
What wonderful, thoughtful hosts and what a find. We shall be back but for longer next time.
