We are passionate about food and have created a varied and interesting menu featuring local and international cuisines. We have great local coffee, a relaxed environment, Wifi and some of the most interesting and innovative English language tours on Ometepe.

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

Tasty, fresh, healthy. We were only on Ometepe for 2.5 days, but we ate here 3 times. The staff were extremely friendly.

We were also able to pick up box lunches to take with us on our hike up Concepcion. Very convenient!

Thank you so much for your review, it means a lot to us that you went to the effort of writing a positive review about our small business. The employees at Cafe Campestre work hard to create a comfortable friendly atmosphere and good food for our guests and they really appreciate the feedback. Thanks again and kind regards, Ben.

“Fresh, healthy, tasty food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed the restaurant enough to eat there twice in our 3 days on Ometepe Island. The food and salad in particular was fresh and colorful. We liked the outdoor patio although it can be warm next to the wall without enough ventilation. Be sure to use the restroom before you go.

“Likely the Best Meal I've Had in Central America - And Not Expensive!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

They bake their own bread, grow their own veggies, toast their own coffee, built their own oven, make their own pasta... and you can feel it! It is a pleasant place, with a variety of places to sit. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
We ordered a little bit of everything and were not disappointed.
The Guacamole was one of the best I've ever had! The tomato salad with olive oil and vinegar was great, so was the garlic toast. The hand made pasta dishes were delicious, as was the curry!
They have great drink options, including a peanut, banana and cacao drink - yumm!
To end there are great banana, chocolate or beet cakes with excellent coffee.

And the best part is, it is cheaper than any place I have seen in Nicaragua which serves this quality international cuisine!

“Great place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

The food here is grown on an organic farm and is hand made and is delicious and inexpensive. I actually spent time in the kitchen one day, and the kitchen is very clean and well organized. Also, next door, (if you are looking at the restaurant, then to your left) is a Pulperia in case you need a beverage to take on the road with you, or need other supplies. The owner of the Pulperia is Nuvia, and she makes hand crafted jewelry and other items from seeds and other things found in nature on the island, which she has been doing since before there were tourists on the island, so it is very authentic. Tell her Sheri says Hola! Bon proveche!

“D E L I C I O U S”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

Amazing food!
Good service!
Nice environment!
Usually good indie music playing!
Great, idyllic view of the town's church across the street!

This is clearly a place that caters to tourists and therefore not necessarily the place to get a truly local experience. But the vibe is nice and the food is the best I've had in Nicaragua. The humus-starter especially blew my mind. Ridiculously good!
