I did not enjoy this restaurant at all, the disappointment coming from the loss of the previous owner operator and his class and flare for food and service and now to be left with Sugar Deli with it's crass and thrown together menu. I had eggs benedict which was possibly the worst prepared meal I have eaten in years and made me feel ill and then followed by coffee and cake which was sugar overload; I went away feeling ill never to return. The cafe itself still has the remnants of the previous owner and the Sugar Deli did not renovate or alter the bar or service area so looking into the restaurant still has some appeal. Any additions that have been made are cheap kitsch and have brought the look of the restaurant down to the level of the food.

If you want great quality food, that is all the food you see on those tv resturant food shows, then this is the place to go. Remember with anything these days if you want great food fabulous service, amazing ambiance then yes you will have to pay for it. So if you want fast food at fast food price then this an't for you. We took our 2 and 3 year old out for breakfast and it was just devine. With an open fire, vintage retro setting, quality service and fabulous food this is a place to be impressed, remember that with anything these days you pay for what you get, so if you like eating out of a cardboard box then this ain't you.

This quaint little café/restaurant is full of surprises. You could spend an hour just looking at the wall art and ornaments. Myself and two friends went for dinner and really enjoyed the meal. Dinner's not cheap but it was nice. However, their specialty and selling point is there $12 cake slice. Three of us could not finish one slice, and when added to a cuppa it would make for a brilliant morning or arvo tea indulgence at a great price. Definitely worth a visit

We stepped into this hidden delight at Scarborough on the Redcliffe Peninsula for coffee and cake on a dreary and cold Sunday afternoon.

The warmth of the cracking fire and a good coffee was just what we needed.

The decor of this cute little cafe is charming and inviting and the service was friendly and prompt.

My piccolo latte was smooth and robust and the fig and walnut slice was perfectly sweet and sticky.

We look forward to coming back for lunch or breakfast.

Really cute place. Worth noting that it shuts at 4 on weekdays. Not too expensive If you share a cake and they definitely are large enough to share. Very nice atmosphere and great staff that are very friendly. If you order a meal you are allowed to sit by the fireplace otherwise the coffee and dessert area is towards the front. I will be a regular x
