“Oh how I do like to be by the sea...when having fish & Chips”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

Went for a day trip to Scarborough today in search of fish and chips !!! Based on previous reviews decided to eat at the boatshed. We ordered the Family pack ($55) which contained MORE than we could eat.....if my memory is correct it contained;
6 pieces of fish - 7/10
8 Calamari - 9/10
4 battered prawns - 9/10
about 4 potato cakes - 7/10
4 small strips of corn - 10/10 (not advertised but a great little bonus)
2 containers of tartare sauce - 9/10
garnished with what looked like sweet potato crisps....yummy
lemon wedges
and more chips (appear home cut) than we could consume.
Overall well presented meal (for take-away) and value for money. A family of four could not eat it all !!!

“Didn't like their snapper”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

We ordered snapper and chips and calamari and chips; the calamari because of previous reviews. The presentation was very good; served with a small amount of undressed shredded coleslaw, fried sweet potato shavings and a tub of tartare sauce. The chips were very obviously store made, though not super crispy. The calamari was cooked perfectly and really delicious. The snapper really let the meal down; it was a large rectangular log of flesh; nicely crumbed but the flesh was grey with sections of very dark grey. Not at all what we expected when we ordered snapper which we often have as it is such a lovely white fleshed fish. For this reason we can only give this cafe 3 stars.

“Fantastic Fish and Chips”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

They do the best fish and chips. Whenever we try somewhere different, we are let down. So far no other fish and chip shop can match the boatshed. And their decore is just so quaint. Love sitting out the front of the cafe eating our fish and chips taking in the gorgeous view

“Calamari to die for !”
Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

The calamari here is prepared in a very special way - rumour has it they soak it in something for 24 hrs before cooking. I don't know if that's true but you won't get better calamari in Greece that you'll get here - so tender it melts in your mouth. Sooooo good !!
