we for 2 nights , staff at the front desk very pleasant. after hours arrival , had no problem with parking or getting to our room. The room itself was well set out, clean & had a nice bathroom. The bed was very firm. Bit of an odd layout to the room but quite pleasant. Our room did have a musty smell & no flyscreens on the window so no air in or out without bugs, air-con worked well. Our room had ocean glimpses but looked out over someones backyard. Definitely recommend Danny's restaurant downstairs..

Sorry, Not a picky person and have travelled a fair bit. Couldn't stand the smell of stale air in the lobby of unit on 2nd floor and odour coming from the waste in the bathroom. Other guests in the lifts were discussing the same problem. Unit was neat and tidy but overlooked the garbage area of the restaurants down stairs. Spa was full of suds and tepid not "hot" as advertised. On speaking to the front desk about the cold spa we were told it would be sorted. 2 hours later nothing had been done. Ended up leaving a day early. As far as a 'resort' goes .... there would be no rating low enough.

Room Tip: Front rooms in hotel may be the only ones worth staying in.

My wife and I stayed at The resort overnight for a work break up and were absolutely delighted with our room and the reception staff.
The resort is close to coffee shops and a small grocery store from which you can buy items for cooking in the small but well appointed kitchen in the room.
Air conditioning was icy cold however there were also good sea breezes if you opened the balcony doors. Rooms were lovely and clean and the shower had good pressure with really hot water. The beach is directly over the road and there is good walking along cement paths to take advantage of the views.

Room Tip: Look for the elevator in middle of underground carpark...We used the stairs and were informed where...

We had 4 days here, with views of the sea from our studio unit's balcony. We didn't bother with the kitchen as breakfast was cheap just outside the front door. We skipped lunch and had dinner at a different venue each night - see other reviews.

Room Tip: Try for the suites with balconies -it is worth the extra, especially off peak times

The first studio room we had was on the north side just above Danny's Restaurant and we found it noisy due to them emptying stuff in bins late into the night so we moved to a different room on the 2nd floor and it was nice and quiet. We found the security system quite frustrating as we had a party of 14 staying on different floors and were not able to use our keycard on their floors so had to meet in the lobby to go up to their rooms.

Room Tip: Be sure not to choose a room on the north side near the front of the resort.

The Scarborough Beach Resort is a large apartment block directly opposite the sea in the middle of the (2 block) shopping strip in Scarborough. Our apartment on the 2nd floor didn't have much of a view (at least partially because we arrived 4 hours before we were supposed to and they went out of their way to make this room available), but it did have a really nice balcony, well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge room / entertainment area and a queen sized bed with lots of storage space.. It came with a dishwasher, clothes washer and drier, a quiet air conditioner (a god send as it was fairly warm with out it) access to the internet (it costs so we didn't) and supposed access to Foxtel. We searched for the Foxtel, all we got were ALL the standard digital channels, which disappointed me a bit - but maybe I wasn't looking enough?
Car Parking was difficult out the front, but was fantastic in the basement(s), our Commodore was easily accommodated. We used the BBQ on the roof and it was great, the view was magnificent, and the facilities very good ( pool, spa etc). Our room was spotless, one bulb was out, and this was very quickly fixed. In fact every contact we had with the front desk was both easy and left us with a smile, a definite positive. We had coffee in one of the cafe's that are out the front of the building ( good, and lots of people eating there) and in Dannies restaurant ( also good, with excellent service).
There is a small grocery store a block from the complex for the little things you need to enjoy breakfast, or within a block on either side there are several places to have breakfast.
Our only complaint was that our room was part of a connected pair - using a common entry foyer, and while we didn't hear our neighbours, we certainly knew when they went in and out.
So, in all an excellent place to enjoy a gentle beach holiday.
