Pontin's Camber Sands Centre

Omg never ever again booked for a 3 night stay didn't last 24 hours, it's shabby dated and most of the people there looked like extras from skint got woken at 7am by kids running around outside kicking a football at our door , that's after a sleepless night because of drunks shouting and screaming all night, has to be the worst night ever my children were frightened and wanted to drive home at midnight. Breakfast was disgusting I wouldn't feed my dog with it avoid the scrambled eggs at all costs it is foul and that's just the start ! Arrived at reception queued for 20mins to check in to be told that as we had classic accommodation we had to check in at another queue which took another 20 minutes then we had to go back to the other check in queue to get electric tokens , it is a complete shambles , when we finally got to our accommodation thank god I had the forethought to take a bottle of bleach it was grubby and the bathroom had mould the beds were awfull the so called sofa bed was a joke even my dog would of slept on the floor , the entertainment was amateur and the place was full of drunks with their cheap cider and half a dozen dirty kids if your covered in tattoos live on a council estate and don't mind filth then this is the place for you !

After reading recent reviews of the park I was hesitant about going on the £9.50 sun holiday I had booked, but after my 4 day stay have booked to stay again.
My apartment was clean and spacious and not very far from the play area which was a plus for the children.
The restaurant although a bit basic was good value for money and the food was ok.
The children were never bored always entering the competitions and dancing the night away.
The bluecoats were friendly and helpful a special thanks to bluecoat Kim who sat and gave special attention to handicapped son.
The park is a stones throw away from the glorious Camber beach and a short drive from Hastings.
We loved our holiday and will be back!

We had booked a 4 night stay in a Club apartment. As someone else has said it looks like a concentration camp. The main building is shabby. The apartment was dirty with mould in the bathroom and blood on the curtains and something undescribable wiped on the wall. The stairs are like fire escape stairs and were thick with birds poo! We just stayed out all day and evening and never dared to eat on site. We left a day early as it was that bad!
Only plus side is the kids park areas which is obviously were all the money has gone!

We also done a deal with the sun, we decided to upgrade to club apartment which in the end our 3 day break cost us £160.00
The best thing about this place is the day you leave to come home.
They say its been refurbished, As I said we went club apartment..... Curtains falling off rails tiles in bathroom missing or cracked, walls filthy general condition of apartment was very bad.with club apartment ... Yes you get a free breakfast when you leave, that's if you fancy standing in a queue for about 1/2 hour, you also get a welcome pack, well if you call it that it consists of 4 tea bags,4 sachets of sugar, coffee, and powdered milk and you also get a plastic spoon WOW
I can say the beach is amazing, thank god we had good weather.
But overall the place is crap, very dated, very dirty.would never ever go back

We did the £9.50 deal with the Sun. Well let me correct that, it's £9.50 per head then an extra £88 for entertainment (???) passes and cleaning (???????) charge. So all in it cost us £150 for the three nights. Add petrol on to that and it’s a considerable sum.
The general theme of this review is “mould”. Upon arrival you can see that a paint brush has not been sighted in this park for many many years, even the “Pontin’s Blue” is more like a shabby pastel blue (with mould). The whole place resembles a WW2 prison camp – even the boundary fence is nasty.
Check in was a shambles. 2 people working and 100 trying the check in at the same time. Eventually got to our “apartment” (this is an apartment in the very broadest sense of the word). Shabby unpainted on the outside, windows double glazed but most non transparent due to condensation inside the windows (and mould) with rusty metal work on them and the doors.
Just don’t know where to start really. The oven was greasy and dirty. The windows were filthy anyway but no point in cleaning them, 4 old school chairs to sit on with rusty legs and a sofa that was clearly lifted from the local rail station. The bathroom was dirty with, you guessed it, mould everywhere.
The only thing that seemed clean was the floor; but 10 minutes of our toddles walking around it showed us that it wasn’t (it was when we left at all the dirt was on their feet).
The beds were seemingly made from suspension springs from the local scrap yard with a covering of plastic.
The pool was “OK”. The changing rooms were disgusting and smelt of sewers. Other facilities for the kids were very poor. No electric buggies (which was the only reason my 10 year old was excited about going), no mini golf. Just a couple of goals set in between the buildings which meant one of our walls got used as a boundary fence....nice.
We had fish and chips from the place on site on Saturday. Overpriced and absolutely horrible. Dry fish and soggy chips.
All in all a disgusting place to stay. Thank the lord for the 2 or 3 local restaurants and pubs such as Dunes and the Hotel up the road we were able to spend as little time on site as possible, we left on Sunday couldn’t stomach another night.

Room Tip: Pick any room in any of the local hotels but do not stay here!

Unfortunately we did not go on the £9:50 Sun deal that cost would of better mirrored the standard, service, accommodation and overall presence of the park.
Our room was unclean the Que for the keys was an horrific experience, it took two attempts to complain as the complaints Que was so vast!
The food was edible but by no means restaurant standard, after our fist experience of the food we we ate out every night.
we have young children so dicided to stick it out for their sake but the childrens entertainment was so poor and lacking we should of left
As a family we usually visit my Mother in Pakefield were we always stay at Pontins it's a much smaller park but better in all categories.
On our last morning we had already packed the car the night before, we took our children to one of the camps play parks, we returned to our room to pick up our children's pack lunch for the trip home this was all before check checkout time. Not only did we find the cleaners checking out our odds and sods left in the room, but they had also thrown my children's lunch boxes!
My advise would be , by all means go there but expect the worse and you will be fine
